I don't know? How often do you see some teacher getting accused of bad shit with a kid? It happens all the time.

I suppose you could do a study on the percentage of molesters in schools versus say construction workers?

They're in every profession and every walk of life where people are in positions of power and use that power inappropriately. I work at a large corporation and know of several situations where credible accusations were swept under the rug. One was against the VP of legal (who was the CEO's closest advisor) and he was accused of harassing the CEO's executive assistant (who had worked for the CEO much longer than the VP but she didn't have the same kind of "credibility" as the important VP). HR investigated (the VP of HR was also one of the CEO's closest cronies) and quietly "promoted" the accuser to a different department and nothing happened to the VP. But I guess that could be considered progress, in the past the accuser would have been fired. In another situation one of my co-workers had to go to our direct supervisor to ask for assistance in getting a high level director to stop "hugging" her... and he's still trucking along being a creep. There's also the less extreme yet super uncomfortable situations where the creepers are smart enough not to do anything in writing or verbally. Like the attorney who would sit in his office discussing a case with female claims adjusters and talk directly to their boobs the whole time. These people aren't famous or working with children so it doesn't make the news.
