No Rick, Portland fans have seen this sort of BS too many times before, you might ask your partner about what it's like. Then again, they're working for Stern so they're just towing the company line...

Yep. I hate blaming the shitty refs for a loss, and its NEVER ALL on the refs. But tonight we lost by 6. The horrendous officiating tonight accounted for at least a 6 point swing. Techs, dirk travels then hits a shot, jason terry running into Batum and Nic getting the foul, Rudy getting bludgeoned with no call, etc...
 
It's games like this when I wish we still had Sheed. He'd be out on the loading dock now, baseball bat in hand, ready to bust these bitches up.
 
I'm not necessarily upset because as of right now the Blazers are still matched up with the Mavericks, and lets be honest, they're probably the best draw for the Blazers in the 1st round. Some say Phoenix, but Amare is unstoppable in the paint. Dirk at least shoots mostly jumpers.

Looking at the schedules I think these two teams will meet again in the playoffs. I can't wait.

There were at least 6 points worth of the refs robbing Rudy in the first half alone. The refs punched the Blazers in the mouth, kicked them in the groin, then stabbed them in the back. And that was just the first half. I stupidly believed the officiating would be more equitable in the second half, and the Blazers would win. Silly me.
 
it almost seemed like after the crowd was booing the refs, the refs started favoring the Mavs even more just to piss the crowd off more.
 
Is the league going to issue a statement about how terribly this game was called?

I mean they only messed up one play in that Utah/OKC game and it was pasted all over the internet.

Yep. That's what I'm thinking. With this win by the Mavs, it puts them on a collision course to face us in the playoffs, and it would be ironic if Dallas just unknowingly sealed their fate in the playoffs, because I like our chances against the Mavs.

Well, the refs are human after all. And some human are that vindictive, so it wouldn't surprise me if (even at some subconscious level) the refs were retaliating and showing the crowd who has the power.
 
kenny mauer better get the fuck outta town quick. If anyone sees him at the airport please spill a hot cup of coffee on his greasy ass head of hair which may or may not be fake.

Seriously, this is the type of shit that makes me question watching the NBA at all.

First game I have ever seen people in the front row get thrown out of because the officials felt their safety was threatened.


And it was.

Every time Mauer calls a Portland game I get a sick feeling in my stomach. Dude is just a terrible official. It was horrid both ways, though Portland got the short end of the stick.

This would have a good, intense, playoff style game.

Instead we all got to watch 3 dudes in stripes fuck up over and over again. We will never know who would have won this game had the calls been consistent in both directions.

And that's just fucking sad.

It's games like these that make me wonder why the hell I even bother watching this joke of a league.


As for the NBA admitting any wrong doing, forget it. Portland just got fucked again so Stern and company could care fucking less.

After all, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean you are wrong.
 
In the midst of all the wrist slitting over this poorly officiated game, I do think there could be some positive residual effects of Rudy (hopefully) regaining a little bit of confidence, and Bayless performed reasonably well.

So yeah KS, if this carries over into the last three games and into the playoffs that's a positive -- although I'm sure that's too subtle a point for you to grasp.
 
I should have gone to Tiesto instead of that game. I'm hoarse from yelling at those fucking pathetic slugs with the ref shirts on.

That was flat-out robbery. My blood-pressure still feels sky high this morning.

Or, "I just hit a fucking wide open three on a missed defensive assignment by the Blazers on the biggest possession of the game."

The refs were complete shit last night, but we could have easily overcome the bad calls by playing smart defense and making shots (FTs especially) in the fourth quarter.
 
Tough game..although we are all upset at a certain individual, I am more alarmed at Brandon Roy. He said his back is tightening up and he just doesn't look the same. Even without Shawn Marion, he couldn't get into a rhythm.
