Game Thread May 2nd Game 3 Sens vs Rangers

This game has turned into a snoozfest really quickly but they are up so whatever.
We went into a defensive shell. Which is beyond dangerous to do this soon. AV needs to get these guys attacking.

This game is over. Big win now lets tie this sucker up thursday

Did what they had to do tonight with a great effort. Wash, rinse and repeat for game four.

Good job by AV making sure Glass was out there for the last 20 seconds to deter any crap that Ottawa might've tried to pull.

The Rangers certainly looked like the better team tonight but it means nothing if they can't do it again Thursday night. Step one taken care of and now time to tie this series up. Still have to love playoff hockey.

Solid response, hopefully they keep it going. Passing was as good as I've seen it in awhile.

Did what they needed to do against a team they are just better than. Hank made 3 or 4 tough saves, and the Rangers pretty much dominated.

I have zero doubt Ottawa will play a much better game on Thursday night, but we'll still be the better team, and hopefully we continue to play smart disciplined hockey (outside of Kreider).

BTW...this does not feel like a playoff series. Not a ton of hitting. Not a ton of passion for the playoffs. And the building in Ottawa is like a library. Strange series that feels like regular season hockey.

I'll also add, Anderson is very beatable. Guy can have a game where he is great and has good highs, but overall he is a middle of the road goalie I think.

Rangers were outshot 22-15 in the 2nd and 3rd periods, so I am sure Ottawa will try and use that to build off of for game 4.

Didn't help that after we went up 4-0 we basically shut it down. What were the shots before 4-0 and after?

Yeah, not too concerned about it. You get a lead like that and the other team will be more desperate. Just saying they will try and use that to build off of.

Ziba should've had a hat trick tonight. Just keep getting the shots on Anderson and they will be fine.

Also a quick tip of the cap to AV for finally realizing who his second D pair is. Skjei/Smith played 20/19 minutes. Staal/Holden played 16/14:30 minutes.

About time AV realized what we all saw since game 1 against Montreal.

Don't be so quick to praise this guy. He may go back to playing two traffic cones their regular 20 minutes or more.

A lot less to say after a decisive victory. I think this game was what most people were expecting out of this series. Ottawa is a tough team...hopefully the Rangers don't sleep on them Thursday because their work is far from over and they could be facing a determined team on Thursday.

Not a lot to say after an easy victory by playoff standards. Rangers did what they needed to do right from the drop of the puck.

I would caution though you know the Sens will be hearing two days of I told you they would come out like that, we need to raise our game now, and we cannot afford to let them win game 4 and get all the momentum in a best of 3 series. Boucher I am sure will be saying all that and more until tomorrow night.

The Rangers need to be prepared for a Sens team that plays at a different emotional level in game 4. And at the same time the Rangers need to play with the same desperation, discipline and smarts they played with last night.

Even though we are down 2-1 it feels like we lead because quite frankly we have controlled most of the series.

There is no reason for the Rangers not to believe after three games in which they have led for 104 minutes, been tied for 94:43 and have trailed for only the final 4:11 of Game 1.

The Sens will bring it in game 4 I think, and we need to be prepared for that. Stretches of game 1 the Sens played well, mainly because of their PP, but for most of this series the Rangers have been the better team. That makes me feel optimistic, but it also scares me. Hopefully it continues in game 4.
