Danny Willett second in Maybank Championship after 65

England's in-form Danny Willett is within one shot of the lead after the opening round of the Maybank Championship in Malaysia.

The 28-year-old, who won the Dubai Desert Classic earlier this month,carded a six-under 65 to end the day behind Australian leader Nathan Holman.

Holman stays in front at Maybank Championship Malaysia

Unheralded Nathan Holman of Australia used flawless putting down the stretch to widen his lead to two strokes at the midway point of the Maybank Championship Malaysia on Friday.

The strapping 24-year-old, who is ranked 176th in the world, manhandled the tree-lined fairways of the par-71 Royal Selangor Golf Club for a second straight day.

Fraser wins the inaugural Maybank Championship Malaysia

Marcus Fraser savoured his first win in nearly six years after overnight leader Lee Soo-min fell apart down the home stretch in the inaugural Maybank Championship Malaysia.

The win is the third European Tour title for the Australian, who carded a bogey-free three-under 68 on Sunday, and ends a drought that saw him go 119 events without a victory.
