Maybe Ferry is more like KP than we thought?

daldridgetnt Just imagine what the landscape would be like today if Danny Ferry had included J.J. Hickson in that proposed deal for Amare Stoudemire...LeBron and Stoudemire would be off the market in all likelihood, Mike Brown would still have his job, Ferry would still have his, a more athletic Cavs team may well have put away Boston, which may have been the end for Doc Rivers there, which may have made Paul Pierce look at his options. Byron Scott would still be at ESPN, Chris Bosh might already be in Miami or Chicago, Carlos Boozer would be where Bosh wasn't.. and the Knicks would likely have no hope of salvaging their two years of big losses. All because of one decision.


Apparently Ferry never wanted to part with young talent to win a title either?

There was considerable debate about making that deadline move and if I recall most "experts" concluded that Amare' would take the most adjustment to integrate and that Jamison would be better able to stretch the floor to open up driving lanes for Lebron ... I doubt an unwillingness to move Hickson was as pivotal as Aldridge makes it seem here. I just think questions about Amare's lack of defense and need for lots of touches scared him off.

It's easy to say in hindsight, but I've never been a big fan of Jamison's game. Seems like an empty stats kind of guy to me... Amare would have made that team much more intimidating and was well worth the additional cost. If it was Ferry that balked at it (as opposed to a meddling owner), and if he ends up our next GM, then that player evaluation concerns me.
