No idea, but why in God's name would you want to watch a game in that dump? I was there to watch a Winterhawks game last year and it was something like the experience I had watching the movie Meatballs for the first time when I was a 12 year old and thinking it was awesome and then stumbling across it twenty years later -- it hasn't held up all that well.

Nik, did you ever go there when you were younger? My dad and our friends used to take me to games all the time. Classic building! Great atmosphere! Very loud!

I would kind of like to see the game. I went to the last game there when we lost to the Suns and Barkley scored 50. Be neat to go this time too, but it wasn't included in my STH package and since it's a preseason game it's not that important to me.

why would i want to go? because i haven't ever been to a game there in my life and it would just bring back some early memories from my youth watching drexler play on tv and my family not having enough money for me to be able to go. so now, i have an opportunity to see the blazers play there and i really really want to.

I don't see how it makes a difference where they play, especially if its in a worse stadium. :dunno:

well you got me then i just think the atmosphere would be really cool. but if you dont thats fine. you dont have to go i just really want to ok?

I dont mean to be a downer lol its fine I think I'm just too young to appreciate it

and my parents aren't from around here so I had to become a Blazers fan on my own

oh dang. but really how could you not want to see them play there? its so cool

I agree. I used to watch the games in the standing room only section up against the wall. Stand the whole game, just screamin'! Loved it!

Sounds awesome. I would probably really enjoy it, but I wouldn't wanna take a ticket away from old timers wanting to relive the golden years! :devilwink:

You know I went to a few Winterhawk games last season (woe is me), and I got chills thinking about all the history, all the memories, and all the triumphs that occurred in the center of that building. This was where the Blazers won their lone championship. This was where Drexler, Porter, Williams, Duckworth, Kersey, and all the great players of the early 90s Blazers played every home game. This was the home of the 1992 NBA finals. The list goes on and on...so many MEMORIES!!!!

You know, if there is a pre-season game in the MC this year (I wasn't aware until reading this), I think I'll go as well. I think it'd be awesome to see the Blazers play there one last time.

When I was 16, yes...back in 1977...I was in the MC watching Bill Walton, Bobby Gross, Dave Twardzik, Lionel Hollins, Maurice Lucas, Johnny Davis, Lloyd Neal, Robin "Rubberband Man" Jones, Herman "squirman" Gilliam, Wally Walker and Corky Calhoun win the NBA Chapionship!

I still remember when the starting five was being announced - it took like 5 minutes for it to quiet down enough to call out the players........"and at Center....from UCLA, number 32, Billllllllllllllll Wallllllllllllllllllllllllton!"

Nothing like it my friend. Nothing.

And the moment that the clock ticked down...5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 and the Blazers had just did the impossible...to win 4 straight games against a virtual all-star 76'er team (Dr. J - Julius Erving was the Michael Jordan of his time!) it was just too good to be true.

And the MC rocked!

I've never experienced a louder venue! The opposing teams would simply shake their heads in disbelief.

Blazermania was born in the MC!

I now live in British Columbia and if anyone can tell me who to call to get tickets - I'll drive down!

Rock on MC!

PS: My Dad still owns the #30 Jersey of Bobby Gross, worn in the Champioship Game! and quite a collection of autographed shoes, Bill Walton, Maurice Lucas, Corky Calhoun (given to my Dad on the night that Corky went a perfect 10 for 10 from the field and 1 for 1 from the line!)......all worn on the hardwoods of the MC!

It has a lot of special memories for me as a kid and getting to go to a couple games at the MC. 12,666 and 12,888 are numbers always to be remembered as a Blazer fan. With that said, a baseball stadium would still be great in that place.

You're wrong on both counts! I can't wait to see the Blazers in the MC, and Meatballs is still a GREAT movie!

Just as I still enjoy watching old movies occasionally like Meatballs, for one night I will enjoy watching the game and the Coliseum. Will probably be rocking some porkchop sideburns, handlebar mustache, and bellbottoms.

Would not want the entire season played there though.

Not gonna lie ... I'm a little concerned one of our players is going to get a bacterial or viral infection using the locker rooms in that rat hole.
