for sure I want Olshey fired....asap

but this is definitely a popcorn day, however it goes. If the Blazers finish the day off by losing to Houston...my gawd

Honestly this great news now that I think about it

as you all know I want to rebuild and this could start a fresh start all the way to the top. Now Neil next. Get a new Gm and go from there. This shit isn’t working

Probably trying to get Neil to resign so they don't have to fire him. Neil won't resign

The buck stops with the President of the Organization.

He was the guy who had the power to fire Olshey. Bad decision making and a well known toxic work environment, yet he did nothing about it for years and years, meanwhile tossing guys like Mike and Mike to the side like trash.

Corporate stooge.
I agree with this take. McGowan has not and possibly didn't want to fire Olshey.
I wonder if that is why he is gone. Didn't want to be part of rebuilding the team and front office. Yes the team needs some major changes.
That and i also feel the Root sports thing might have something to do with this.

If Olshey doesn't get fired, it's going to be very akward

If he doesn’t get fired it probably means they didn’t find enough non basketball stuff worth getting fired over. Seems unlikely though. Either no action or fire him. He better not get off with a slap on the wrist ie anger management courses

Does Neil have something on McGowan and used it to save his own job so Chris stepped down?

Lolol so this has nothing to do with Olshey

I don't care that hes gone, did a terrible job with the root sports deal. But what's happening? Im hoping Jody sells the team Neil is fired and we completely blow up the roster and start fresh. Is this the start of that?

Yeah like they expect us to believe is this not related . I bet he saw the results of the investigation and maybe it showed he turned a blind eye to some stuff so left before he could get fired?

Do you think new leadership will give Chauncey much of a chance after a poor start or get rid of him in record fashion also?

how about this for a possible explanation of McGowan's resignation:

the investigation has revealed there's been big problems with Olshey's management style for years. McGowan approved Olshey's 3 years contract extension 2 years ago, when he should have fired Olshey instead. The Vulcans are blaming McGowan for that extension (and Root Sports)

does that make any sense?

I would support that, or with a new GM perhaps we give it one more shot with Dame and trading a guy like CJ (and others), however Dame at 31 and looking shaky this season I do wonder if thats a wise choice.

yeah, makes very good sense to me

Ok was just told it’s totally unrelated to Olshey. Took another job elsewhere.
Is making that horrid Root Spoorts deal his way of pooping on his deck and flicking off the boss before quitting?

I think this is the beginning of an entire tear down. Weird ominous feeling.

If you were a player in the prime of your career why would you want to stay here with things unraveling?
