Hell I wouldn't want to sign a long term contract either if I thought the organization was fucking around with my franchise player. McMillan is only going as far as Brandon takes him. If he thinks he could lose Roy, I could see him not wanting to be stuck in a losing situation with an organization who looks at key players like stock market holdings.
This forum is sliding slowly, but inexorably, into a netherworld of bitterness and insanity.
An upbeat, cheerful interview in which he basically accepts that a rich extension is a fait accompli = Roy gone, who's next? (And yes, PapaG, I have now listened to this interview.)
Ignore the text message he sent after the interview. The Seattle interview was even worse.

. I'm not ignoring it. I don't think he'd be saying how excited he is to be about to sign a big extension if his rage at Portland were building.
Clearly the negotiations aren't simple and straightforward. Again, I don't really think that's relevant. All that matters is that he's satisfied at the end. How he feels at this moment...pretty irrelevant.
It's because you're too lenient on banning people.
Imagine what it'd be like if this team actually sucked.
Not really. How he feels is much more important than how you, Ed, me, and the rest of the S2 posse feel.
More important, yes, but not very important, really. All that matters is that he is eventually satisfied financially by Portland. It's like the Blazers being down 1 in the first quarter. Not "good" per se, but also not very useful in telling us the ultimate result.
True, but I'd prefer a 40-10 lead in this instance.
I have strong views on what Brandon Roy has meant to this franchise. Should I be banned for this?
40-10 leads rock. But, in the end, winning is all I care about. As long as Roy and Aldridge are extended, it's all good.
And if Portland also snares Millsap, that's like a, um, 110-90 victory. Metaphor thoroughly flogged!
Well, for me, it's also how the players feel about the win. Beating the Wizards in OT? I don't think they like that result too much.

When Nate started losing faith in the Seattle management he refused to re up there. I kind of see this as Nate starting to lose faith in management, and wanting an out if he doesn't like what he views from his position.
