On ESPN today they mentioned on Friday it becomes more difficult to make trades especially superstars with big salaries? Is that when new CBA kicks in?
Not likely.Maybe now we will learn the actual truth instead of all of the speculation and rumors.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Dame is gone by this time next week... even as early as middle of this week.

why not, its not like news that dame lillard has requested trade can hurt his value, cause teams will know regardless (either trail blazers will call other teams or other teams will call trail blazers and just the fact that they would be willing to negotiate, tells that he is available, simple as that... and it would be good for chris haynes to break the news, hes close with dame lillard and he would do him solid)Not likely.
I'd be shocked. There's no way it happens that fast. Trade deadline? Sure it may happen. Next week, not a chance.
"Our direction for the franchise? You show up, play good basketball, listen to Chauncey, and cash your checks."
I'm glad Cronin has so much patience to hold the hand of the guy because, man, the dude gets a lot of TLC for having won 22 career playoff games and being owed like a quarter of a billion bucks.
If Dame has made up his mind, which is very possible, he will probably just want to be done with it. I can't imagine he wants to put up with a summer of being asked if he wants out.
He's done it for every summer for 8 years.
I think the framing from Haynes makes it a bit more ominious than this is. Our moves this Saturday will be entirely dependent on if Dame continues to be here or not. As a precursor to the opening of FA, knowing if he's in is essential."Our direction for the franchise? You show up, play good basketball, listen to Chauncey, and cash your checks."

It's also what would be prudent for both Dame and the team from a competitive standpoint. Dame's new team has the context for how they approach free agency and the same for us. I actually think that waiting and drawing this out would be incredibly foolish for our team. More time doing shit to try and please Dame if he ultimately wants out could result in lost opportunities for our youth rebuild. If Dame has made up his mind, which is very possible, he will probably just want to be done with it. I hear you. As a practical matter, of course we need to get Dame to buy in to whatever the team wants to do (even if it's "nothing").I think the framing from Haynes makes it a bit more ominious than this is. The guy said what he wanted. He was very clear.
The Blazers did what he said he didn't want.
Still not sure if he can't be traded until 7/9.
There's some discrepancy about what kind of contract he signed, but it still seems like he can't be traded until the 9th.
I think this has 2 realistic endings -- I will say I think the 2nd option is the most likely but who knows after the Blazers lied to him but again that is the picture that is easy to believe when the truth might not be as black and white.
1) He tells the Blazers he wants out now and we get a trade in the next 2 to 3 weeks prolly to Net's or Heat
2) The Blazers and Dame agree to see how this plays out for the rest of the summer in terms of free agency , trades etc and revisit the situation. Then at the deadline when the offers also might get better after things shake out more then if he wants out maybe more trade partners and better offers.
Agreed. I've grown weary of hearing his constant waffling. Pick a lane. I don't think he realizes how much he's shitting on his Portland fans these past few summers.I hear you. As a practical matter, of course we need to get Dame to buy in to whatever the team wants to do (even if it's "nothing").
On paper, though, I don't think having the best player on the team telling the GM to "try harder or else" is helpful.
you're been saying that for weeks.
I'm curious though, if Dame comes out and says he wants to stay in Portland, which is still possible, are you going to call him a liar? Or will you allow that he might have changed his mind?
