Wow. I've been watching 1080 the Fan today with Isaac and Suke. Honestly, I love these guys. Its a great show, and they call it as they see it. Anyways, they get into a discussion about how Isaac used to work for CSN and he made some Twitter comments on his PERSONAL ACCOUNT about the team and how they were doing. Not everything was so positive (kinda like us here, huh?). Isaac even said that his boss admitted that he had done nothing wrong. Anyways, he ends up getting fired by CSN. Obviously, even though CSN is not a part of the organization, the Blazers have quite a control of content put out by them. That really sucks. From a fan standpoint, we should be able to hear all views on what's going on with the team. Be able to discuss both the positive, AND the negative. SO, it makes me wonder, how long until the hammer gets dropped here? How long until they move on to a more "candy coated" site like Blazers Edge? (IMHO-that place sucks just because of this....).

As a side note- they discussed Jason Quick, and how they feel bad because he is getting throttled now that he is with CSN. Personally, I have never cared for Quick, and his negativity. He went overboard, to ruffle everyone and get those clicks. Well, not anymore.....

I just watched the show, so I will see if I can find a link to post.

Many posts like this.

Denny has been working overtime lately, defending Olshey's signings from last summer. When S2 became the official Blazer board, he was ordered to change his allegiance from the Bulls. Kind of like when Hitler hoped that England would take his side. Makes you think of the Orwellian big picture around here. Is S2 a holographic swamp?

I mentioned this a week or so ago and Ropp isn't the only one that has mentioned this....just the only one to do it this publicly. I completely believe that when Olshey's time here is up, you will hear a number of people with a suddenly different view then they are 'allowed' to give out now. Right not, the Blazers want a certain narrative and put vast pressure on those who don't fall in line.

Neil also is one who holds a grudge I've been told and never lets anything go.

Sounds like a soap opera....

I noticed that Mike Barrett lost all of his commercial gigs after getting axed by the Blazers. I wonder if the Blazers had anything to do with that.

I mean, the only reason he had them was because he was the voice of the Blazers. It would seem odd to have "former play by play of the Blazers" as your spokesperson.

You may not be able to say anything...but I'm going to make it clear...

Neil needs to go. He has been here for 6 years and the team is worse off then when he took it over. I've been on record with much disagreement by a lot of you that he is very incompetent at what he does. His do things by default has hurt this team in many ways.

And that comment is separate from the rest of this discussion, but a commentator getting let go and not getting commercial gigs in the city shouldn't be an issue.

Go read about the mess that the Bulls are in. Neil is a prick to many people but is a total bro to the players. I don't have a problem with that.

Calabro's agent would have written into the contract that Calabro gets any sponsorships that the Blazers had directed toward Barrett. Barrett's agent is on his own now, to get new commercial money for his client.

After Bob Whitsitt replaced the great Bob Blackburn with Calabro, Blackburn showed up in a Seattle TV ad maybe once every 8 years.

I heard MB's voice in a commercial on Tuesday.

I wonder if it will be an Indianapolis Colts type situation. They just fired their GM, Ryan Grigson, and current and former players started talking shit about him and how horrible he was to work with. I had never really seen anything like it, and the more I hear about Neil on here and other places like Twitter, the more he sounds like a Ryan Grigson.

Issac and Suke are the best, it's not even close. They are very good at what they do.

Every team does that... they think negative things will get people to not become fans.

But the weird part of that is, if you're realistic when you're a fan, you're going to say negative shit anyway, so it doesn't really matter but you may have gotten a couple hundred out of them during that time they tried to manage how you thought. lol.

It's why I like Issac and Suke - they will get on the team if they fucking suck and deserve it.

Right on cue.

Neil is a bitch. this has been known.

Not surprised he's acting sensitive as fuck after destroying this roster.

Don't care how Neil treats anyone except the players and his head coach. They are the only ones that matter.

That being said, he better pick his game up because he hasn't really done anything in a year and a half to improve this roster. The trade deadline/summer should be make or break for his job in Portland.

Awhile back, reading the Fire Olshey thread, I was stacking together his good vs bad. I'd never put much critical thought into it, probably because he's a natural salesman and sells everything he does as the best he could do given his situation. He's always portrayed himself a little bit the martyr in that respect. "Best I could do given our draft position or our cap situation or our appeal to free agents or given our injuries or given the mandate handed down by Paul." I guess I've been a tacit and compliant fan, because I generally thought he has been doing well. Or maybe he just took advantage of my growing apathy toward the team.

In a way, he's helped push the perception we should lower our expectations and be grateful for what little we do have. Maybe that's his biggest win as a GM? Because it's kept him employed this long. I'm not sure what his next biggest win would be? It's easy to say drafting Lillard and CJ, but the Blazers were going to draft Lillard regardless if Olshey was hired, so I can't give him too much credit there. CJ has been a terrific story, but.....he also passed on some maybe superior players in choosing CJ. On the flip side, he's made some very BIG mistakes, the most egregious in letting his best player go for nothing. That's fireable in itself.

But staying on topic, I think the Gestapo approach to running an organization is only tolerable if they're winning and putting out a good product. So, how is he getting away with it?

How many championships has this got him? How many wins has this got him this year? Not getting sassy with you, just want you to think about it.

With that said, if he believes that much in this collection of talent. Enough to make them a top three payroll in the league, maybe he ought to coach them.

He's getting away with it because Paul buys into his hot air. But Paul is kind of flaky like that.

Isaac and Suke are fucking terrible. Just fucking awful. Some of the worst commentators in the nation without a doubt. Isaac was a terrible host on that CSN postgame show THATS why he got fired he constantly looked and sounded like he had a stick shoved up his ass. None of this controlling content nonsense youre trying to push.
