Seriously, what would happen is such a situation? Reabsorb the players in a draft of some sort??

Seriously, the team that won the lotto to pick CP3 -- for a proven commodity like Paul it would be like winning the lotto 3 times.

Obviously in a scenario where the Hornets (and maybe another team) have to be dispersed, the Lakers would get the first pick. Duh.

The pick would probably go to Memphis. Who would promptly trade it to the Lakers for a future second rounder. Then someone in the media would write an article about what an asshole Pritchard is.

Portland needs more players who go by their iniitals/uniform number.

He'd hit in great next to GO52, BR7, and LMA12. The missing piece.

So now the debate in here could be... Would you or NO rather deal LMA or GO for him.. LMA obviously is the superior talent, but GO will be costing less for at least another year, which would have to be taken into consideration as well.

I would consider trading Roy for Paul, then starting Rudy.

I think this would have to be the structure. Oden or LMA as the principle, Chanlder as the big savings. In a way this would make a lot of sense for both teams. If you put in Outlaw and LMA (instead of Oden), they are both somewhat local and probably would like being there. And LMA, Bayles, Outlaw and Rudy would be quite a young core to build around.

I'd assume KP would want to pair him up with Oden.

Paul is one of the only players I'd trade Roy for. Or maybe we could get away with trading LMA/Rudy/Bayless/Picks/Batum package. Maybe a 4-for-2 type of deal.

Not true. They can dump the salary with Chandler. To trade Paul, they will hang Chandler in the deal too in order to get talent and savings.

Roy + young talent + cost savings would be a pretty good deal for them.

But trading Roy for Paul wouldn't nearly be as good for our team. The idea is to put both Roy and Paul, two top 10 players, together.
