It's very possible that Crabbe averages 15 ppg next season with the increase in minutes and shots.

only 11 sf's averaged 15 ppg or more, 5 currently in the east, 4 if Carmelo makes it to the Rockets. So, it's possible that he becomes the 4th or 5th highest scorer for his position in the east. All-star? Unlikely, but with a little luck, not impossible.

My guess? By the time his contract ends, it won't be considered a bad contract.

Yes, but he'll be at the very bottom of that threshold if he scores 15 PPG, with negative value from defense and very little value from rebounding or passing. That takes a lot of the luster out of the (already fairly marginal) achievement of scoring 15 PPG. IMO, he'll have to play far, far better than he has so far to even be in the discussion for All Star, East or not--either his scoring is going to have go over 20 PPG or he's going to have to become drastically better at some other aspect of the game.

He would have to do other things at an elite level to be an allstar like defense/rebounding/assisting which he simply does not do. You all watched him when has he EVER looked like an allstar?

Lillard averaged 27 ppg last year and was not an all star. C.J. averaged 23 ppg and was not an all star.

Yeah, I get that the East is weaker than the West, but it's not THAT much weaker.

No, but.... I've never really seen much of the east, nor have I seen much of Crabbe as a starter.

Paul Milsap averaged 18, Love averaged 19 - both were east all-stars last year.

1st, I didn't ask if you were kidding. It's part of the quote. 2nd, The notion that Crabbe could make the all star team EVER is hilarious at best.
Both David Lee and Jeremy Lin made it in the east though....the east is a walk in the park compared to the west...the Nets would have to win though and that's the X factor...unless Lin's fans latch onto AC....

I don't think Lin has ever been an All Star. David Lee made it when he was a 20/10 type guy. If Crabbe puts up a 20/10 season then yeah, he could make an All Star team. I won't hold my breath.

Jeremy Lin was an allstar I believe....it was the massive Chinese vote that got him voted in..

Jeremy Lin was an allstar in 2016

The only guards selected from the East in 2016 were Wade, Lowry, Butler (G/F), Wall, DeRozen and Thomas. Butler had an injury but was replaced by Pau Gasol.

I think I got the year wrong so I corrected it but I really thought Lin got voted in 0nce

Doesn't appear so. I can't find any mention of him being on an All-Star team.

maybe he was a reserve....I couldn't confirm it either

It would still be listed as an All-Star selection. I'm pretty sure he was never on an All-Star team.

That said, it is easier to make it in the East, but you still have to be pretty good or put up good numbers. If Crabbe turns into a 20+ PPG scorer, he's got a shot (though he'd be very far from a shoo-in without any other skills). As a 15 PPG scorer with no other value, he has no chance even in the East.

You what annoys me more than anything else? When people just KNOW what a person is, what they will always be and there is NO chance of improvement or showing an ability that they may not have shown yet. We are all first and foremost human beings and ALL humans are capable of bettering themselves.
