Merged: Jury: Stevens guilty on seven counts

Ron Wyden, Jon Tester, Judd Gregg, Xavier Becerra, Mark Udall, Mike Pence, Tom Allen, Tim Walz, Lee Terry, Anthony Weiner, Heath Shuler, Tim Ryan and Jim Langevin.

Heath Shuler is the most corrupt person I can think of. Given his play for my beloved Redskins, it's clear he was paid off by Washington's opponents to suck at quarterback. You couldn't play that badly unless you tried.

The GOP needs to send the message that if Sen. Stevens wins, he won't serve his term and Gov. Palin will appoint someone to serve his term--make that person the most uncorruptable person in Alaska politics.

The problem with that is that Stevens intends to keep his office if elected.
And Stevens himself might very well be the most uncorruptable person in Alaska politics.

What the Alaska GOP needs to do is what NJ Democratic Party did after Bob Torricelli quit his campaign due to a fundraising scandal. They brought back Frank Lautenberg, and had his name put back on the ballot (even though it was against the law).

As a NJ resident, I remember that quite well. The law said no replacements within 60 days (I believe) of the election, and the state Supreme Court let him on the ballot. I believe their rationale was that the law did not take into account any possibility of a vacancy. Sheer lunacy.

Forrester was up 20 points on the Torch. He was going to kill him and win that seat (rare for a Republican). As far as I'm concerned, the Democratic party's control of the Senate is illegitimate because of what happened back then. Forrester wins and Republicans have control.

The GOP needs to send the message that if Sen. Stevens wins, he won't serve his term and Gov. Palin will appoint someone to serve his term--make that person the most uncorruptable person in Alaska politics. Also, send the message that if they vote against Sen. Stevens by voting for Mayor Begich, they're voting for a Democratic filibuster-proof majority in the US Senate.

Just because the NJ state Supreme Court said there could be a replacement, doesn't mean Alaska's SC would do the same. The Republicans tried to appeal in NJ to SCOTUS and were denied.

The fact is Alaskans want someone to bring home the bacon. Ted Stevens was the best of the best besides Robert Byrd at doing that. In a way it is like NJ in that corruption does not scare them as much as it should.

Hey Denny, what are you doing still here?

Aren't you supposed to be with Alan at a dude ranch in Utah by 10 PDT tonight?

In fact, I am!

In the mean time, I'm engraving my name on the Stanley Cup:

I see no evidence that any others are not corrupt. Feel free to name ones you think aren't.

I see no evidence of when any of them stopped beating their wives, either.

I see no evidence that any of them are not thinking thoughts of pedophilia.

I could go on, and on...
