Quarterback Michael Vick has signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, his agent, Joel Segal, confirmed to ESPN.com.

Vick was the No. 1 draft pick in 2001, and once the highest-paid player in football. But he has not played since 2006 when his career came tumbling down. He was convicted in August 2007 of conspiracy and running a dogfighting operation, sentenced to 23 months in federal prison and suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

But after serving his time and being released from home confinement July 20, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally lifted Vick's suspension, allowing him to sign with a team.

Interesting. I wonder if this means the Eagles aren't too sure about Kevin Kolb long-term, or if they just see this as a random, low-risk flyer.

Kolb did recently suffer an apparently minor injury, so maybe they just want another quarterback.

Re: OT: Who Let The Dogs Out?

I'm always the last to know! Sorry!

Re: OT: Who Let The Dogs Out?

I hope they lose every single game, and he gets injured on the first play he is in.

I also don't give a shit what anyone thinks of my comments.

Actually, now that I think about it, the Eagles may be planning to use him for Wildcat formations.

As a weapon in the Wildcat, he could be an asset. I'd be pretty leery of making him a starting quarterback for my team.

It would be so nice to have interesting topics in the main forum.

Please don't over moderate like what happened on BBF

...I am not sure why anyone would expect Vick to continue trying to be a quarterback

Good, Vick and Philly deserve each other. They both suck.

Here's a comedian, Bill Burr, who got sick of a Philly audience booing every comic that came to stage without even giving the comics a chance. He insults their sports teams, Rocky, even the liberty bell. It's beautiful.

I find neither assertion surprising.

And I agree wholeheartedly with both.
