Oh yeah, it definitely has a story. I mostly played the story and not as much the PvP. I haven't started D2 yet - but it seems to be more involved than D1, with all sorts of various ways to play - solo, as a team, against other players solo, against other players as a team. I think I only scratched the surface of how to play D1, and am hoping to learn the ins and outs of D2 a bit more.
