It's got to be a lot harder to criticize people you actually know. It's easy for a lot of us to say trade this guy, trade that guy, but they are real people and when you're talking about people you actually work with or work close to then it's another story completely. It's not like HCP acts like a homer or anything.

This is all really subject to injury location. For instance if the bone chip occured on a part of the patella where there is going to be a lot of friction, then it's likely to irritate the surrounding tissue and cause discomfort and swelling, so to answer your question it could be a lot of things, but unless it was truly broken (which is not what it sounds like) then the biggest issue is discomfort and how much can Greg tolerate.

My guess is that swelling is more from the contusion of the soft tissue around the patella rather than a chip of bone coming off his knee -- I mean if he banged knees hard enough with Maggette to chip the patella it stands to reason that the ligaments and tendons (and skin I suppose) are pretty tender too.

Positives: he played with the banged up knee without it affecting his ability to move immediately following the injury, he practiced the next day in Phoenix for the rookie-soph game, and while this is purely subjective and indicates nothing, does this look like a guy who is hobbled and in excruciating pain?

negatives: some conflicting reports; Casey calls it a fracture, the presser calls it a bone chip (technically a fracture) and Barret calls it a bruise.

I guess it's possible that there is something going on that the team doesn't want us to know ... and if I was a betting man, I'd say that big secret is that they'd probably rather their franchise big get the rest rather than play the third game in three nights, especially when there is a viable excuse.

Doesn't matter much to me. I hate to see a guy injured, but so often, he has so little impact on the game that I think we'll be just as fine without him. It does mean a little more Frye though.

Even when you do point out the flaws in his "logic" (term used very loosely there), he does nothing to refute it - because either he can't or simply doesn't care to. I'm guessing it's not the former because as idiotic as his posts can be, he's not an idiot and, if he wanted to, could defend his stance. So if it's the latter, then it goes to show that he just doesn't care about anything but throwing bullshit up to rain on others' parades and then moving on to find other ways, other reasons to shit on an otherwise enjoyable forum.

If you consider a poster to be a troll, the appropriate action is to ignore him, since trolls feed on responses. Responding to him is a vote that you don't consider him a troll.

And if he's not a troll, there is absolutely no reason why he should be removed from the forum.

No. There has been many posts about this already. I think oden will play in the next game. They are going to check Oden again once he comes back on Tuesday. I wouldn't worry about it until we hear something worse then has been reported.
