Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

Collison is good for a rookie, but yeah, this makes it tough on the Hornets.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

Now Andre Miller will make the All-Star team! ;)

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

Yikes, I feel bad for Paul. I like him (although his complaining and yelling at the refs annoys me a lot) and hope he recovers well and quickly. I suggested in the thread about how a lot of teams have 21 losses that the Hornets will be one of the teams who won't make the playoffs this year, even with Paul. Without him it will be mighty tough. Who creates?

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

That sucks.

It should open the door for Billups to make the team now, so maybe he'll stop playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

I won't lie, I'm happy.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

Trade for Paul while his value is down? Plus, added bonus: if the trade happens, we can complain how yet another Blazers star is injured and admire how the team is still winning games. "We're doing it without Paul now!"

I would trade him for Bayless and Rudy :sigh:

Pause.

(Been waiting to use that ever since I learned about it on this very forum.)

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

Wonder if he might need microfracture, we didn't know with Oden until they went in.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

What a shitty inbound pass by West.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

You know, I picked Dwyane Wade for my team and a guy who picked Chris Paul commented on how Dwyane's just going to get injured again, and I said, "No, these things rotate. It's Chris Paul's turn." And here he's been injured twice for long stretches this season. I kind of feel bad for jinxing both of them.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

it was the right idea. But that whole play seemed weird or bad.

No doubt it was the right idea, but he threw such a terrible pass. Paul is quick, but not quick enough to recover that garbage that was thrown.

Re: OT: And there goes the Hornets

"Terrible pass by New Orleans" is an incredible understatement, considering it was basically responsible for destroying the rest of their season (if that knee injury to Paul is truly going to sideline him for two months).

I feel bad for Chris Paul. And as for the Blazers' ramifications, it weakens only one of the 10 or 11 teams with legitimate chances at the postseason, so it's not like it's making a huge difference. Blazers still have the Rockets, Grizzlies, Jazz, Spurs, Suns, etc., to worry about.

Hope he heals up quick but they still miss the playoffs. I think we'll be better than 3 of those bubble teams which would mean we'd make the playoffs.

Cp3 is on my team too wonder if I can get people for him... 2 months is march right?

I wish the NBA would do a better job protecting their guys. Having a slew of photographers with their massive cameras on the baseline is ridiculous. Push them back from the court and place some sort of padded barrier between the fans so the players could really go it on plays along the endlines and the game would benefit in more ways then one.

what a bummer to lose a talent like CP

This is why the league needs to shorten the season. By the end of the season half the league is going to be injured. Get better Paul!!

I haven't seen the play, but I totally agree that having all the photogs down there on the end line is a real safety hazard. Seems like every other game a player steps on them and nearly turns an ankle...or worse.

I BETTER GO TRY TO SCREW SOME GUYS

A little companionship in your time of sorrow?

Casual sex with strangers is not the answer to your problems. In the morning Paul will still be injured, the guys you slept with won't respect you and you'll feel like a cheap whore. You have to ask yourself, is it worth it?

BNM

Damn it espn already put a note by him saying he's getting surgery...

OT - Chris Paul out at least a month.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4875956

The New Orleans Hornets have lost All-Star point guard Chris Paul for at least a month.

Sources close to the situation confirmed to ESPN.com on Sunday that Paul tore cartilage in his left knee and will be forced to undergo arthroscopic surgery.

The Hornets are optimistic, sources said, that Paul will miss only one month, including the Feb. 14 All-Star Game. But they won't establish a firmer timetable on Paul's return until after he has surgery.

Yahoo! Sports first reported the need for surgery, saying that test results revealed a partial tear to Paul's meniscus and that he could miss up to two months.

This will be Paul's second extended absence of the season. An ankle injury cost him eight games soon after Byron Scott was replaced as coach by general manager Jeff Bower, but the Hornets managed a 4-4 record during that stretch.

After Paul tweaked the knee in a game Wednesday at Golden State, it appears he suffered the tear Friday night in a home overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls following a scramble for a loose ball and a hard landing on the baseline in the final seconds of regulation.

When Paul is formally ruled out of the All-Star Game, his replacement on the Western Conference roster will be chosen by NBA commissioner David Stern. Prime candidates to replace Paul at guard include Denver's Chauncey Billups and Golden State's Monta Ellis.

We dont play New Orleans again until March 27th. He'll probably be back by then.
