Re: OT: Sergio a starter for NY!

Have Sergio run the point?
:biglaugh:

Beat me to it. Seriously, I thought a good PGs was supposed to make their teammates better. So, why did a Knicks team that average 101.5 PPG with Chris Duhon starting struggle to score a season low 67 points the first time Sergio starts? That really is pathetic. I never thought I'd see a Mike D'Antoni team score so few points in a game.

Look what new players do to the Blazers!

Yeah, the guy they brought in to rebound and defend the paint has 25 REB and 7 BLK in two games. What a bum.

Re: OT: Sergio a starter for NY!

Fuck. I'm so tired of talking about this guy :sigh:

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

Yipee. Just what this board needs, yet ANOTHER Sergio thread.

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

Since you post in every single one, I thought you wanted more.

I know you'll love this quote:

"I really didn't know much about Sergio but he is one heck of a player," fellow newcomer Tracy McGrady said. "The basketball IQ is phenomenal. His passing ability is pretty dag on good. He seems like he is going to be a fun guy to play with."

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

Do we play the knicks again this season? I want to watch bayless eat Sergio alive

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

If you're going to start threads about players on other teams, either do it in that team's forum or have the common courtesy to properly label it as "OT:".

I'm going to kill two birds with one stone.

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

Ugh....I want to root for Sergio, but Maris is making it sooooo hard.

Re: OT: Sergio a starter for NY!

His team just scored 67 points with him running the point. They were averaging 101.5 PPG with Duhon running the point.

He gets all the blame? Okay, using that logic--

Milwaukee averages 97.8 points. Tonight, Sergio held them to 83.

So, that's a net -19.7. Sounds about right.

Re: OT: Sergio a starter for NY!

8 steals. Only 1 knick has ever stolen 9. Who was the last Blazer player to steal 8 in a game?

Your database must go back before this one, 1986. The steal stat has been recorded since 1973. According to this--

Sergio now owns the all-time Knick team record for steals. In only his second game.

This reminds me of his rookie year, when he was top-10 in the league (not just rookies) in assists per 48. It's happened 5 times for the Blazers, 3 of them by Clyde Drexler. Had he done it here, Sergio would be on the mountaintop alone with Drexler, Roy, and Porter.

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

Without his reminders, you would have forgotten about Sergio, so you wouldn't be rooting for him anyway.

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

and this, imo, is why there is so much sergio hate in this forum.

Yep, the clueless fanboys have made Sergio despised by many in this forum. Without them, he'd be a footnote around here and we wouldn't get multiple threads posted about him when he starts and SUCKS for the second horrible team he's played for this season.

Seriously, it's the fanboys and their Sergio spam that makes it impossible to root for him. Without them, he'd be no more disliked than Taureen Green.

Why does this thread even exist? Why couldn't the old youtube videos have been posted in the OTHER Sergio/Knicks thread we have going tonight? And since this thread does exist, why isn't it labeled "OT:"?

Or rooting against him.

Re: OT: Sergio a starter for NY!

How many points did those 8 steals get his team? Couldn't have been many as Sergio only scored 4 points, only has 1 assist and his team only scored 67.

Yeah, 8 steals for Sergio will go down as one of the highlights of his NBA career. Too bad it came in a game where his team lost by 16.

And by "fanboys" you mean MARIS?

Re: 3 Reasons Why Sergio became a Knick

Knicks are winning the NBA championship next year.

Google didn't have it, so I went to the Knick media guide on NBA.com. Here are the team steals records for a game.

9 12/23/80 Michael Ray Richardson
8 01/08/81 Michael Ray Richardson
8 03/04/86 Chris McNealy
8 02/22/10 Sergio Rodriguez

Not the team record, but the highest number in 24 years. I bet M.R. and McNealy didn't do it in either 29 minutes, or in their second game with the team. I know the Blazer players with 8 steals didn't.

WOW!!!! Sergio Rodriguez is now in the same class as the legendary Chris McNealy. Frickin' ayyyyyy baby. Reserve that spot in Springfield now. There is nothing holding him back from being the greatest PG in the history of the game.

Damn, Maris was right. If only KP had known Sergio had a shot at being the next Chris McNealy, he never would have paid the Kings to take him off our hands.

Have you heard of the Party of No? This is a mentality of trolling on everyone's attempt to be happy. As the board policeman, on how many threads tonight have you left your stinky mark?

And you don't need to remind everyone about Pritchard's lack of trading skills. 1) Paying millions to trade 2nd round picks to give away Sergio. 2) Paying Francis $30M and getting only Frye to give away Zach. 3) See my signature below.

Have you heard of the Party of No? This is a mentality of trolling on everyone's attempt to be happy.

You mean like you just did to me? Why is my happiness any less worthy than the Sergio fanboys' I'm actually happy when the Blazers experience success. Unlike you who delights in the of the perceived failures of our GM.

You do know this is the Blazers forum, not the Knicks forum, right? So why are we supposed to delight in the "success" of a Knicks player and bash our own GM?

So, please celebrate Sergio's monumental accomplishments to your little heart's content - IN THE KNICK'S FORUM where it belongs.

Your act is so transparent. Of course anyone who worships at the altar of Whitsitt is going to feel insecure about Kevin Pritchard. You WANT Pritchard to fail because you fear he may accomplish something Whitsitt couldn't - get this team to the NBA finals. And, he might do it without turning the team into the laughingstock of the league and a national embarrassment by building a roster full of nanny rapers and dog abusers.
