NEXT Saturday. The Dream Match! Golden Boy vs. the Current Pound for pound champ of the world. Actually going to Vegas for the fight weekend, but no tix for me...way too expensive.

Anyone else hyped for this matchup?

:ghoti:

Gut feeling is that Pac-man is too small for the bigger Oscar...hope manny can pull it off though.

Re: Pacquaio vs. Delahoya

I don't think Oscar has anything left in the tank.

Re: Pacquaio vs. Delahoya

I think Oscar will prove too strong for Pac-man (sp?). Manny is explosive and could catch DLH, but I think Oscar will be able to control the ring with his stiff jab and some body work- Pac fades after the first few rounds, usually. If Manny doesn't maintain a distinct speed advantage coming up in weight, it might get ugly.

Pacquaio has mastered the "knock your opponent down early, lose most of the rounds" formula; It wouldn't be shocking if something like that happened. Oscar's Jabbing ability, height and reach advantages should keep Pac-man at bay; that said, There's always a puncher's chance!

Can Pacman touch the Golden Boy?

1 Golden Boy by decision
2 Golden Boy by KO
3 PacMan by decision
4 PacMan by KO
5 Blazers by 50

Why?

Re: Can Pacman touch the Golden Boy?

lemme just say...what the fuck

Re: Can Pacman touch the Golden Boy?

Pacquiao is going to annihilate him.

Re: Can Pacman touch the Golden Boy?

if the fight goes past 6th round, hoya will be floored. he'll be slowing down while manny's speed overwhelm him.

Re: Can Pacman touch the Golden Boy?

He will touch him. I can guarantee you that.

hopefully, Oscar won't be a little bitch like he always is.

I've been watching 24/7 on the score and it's getting me hyped. Pacquiao is gonna take this, for sure. Del La Hoya is finished and has resorted to some voodoo shit to help him relax. Pacquiao is the peoples champ and is a straight tank and a baller.

manny by tko @ inside the last 30 seconds of the 9th round.

Does anyone know of any links that will be showing the fight? I guess its ok to pass on the info on that kind of stuff here

Where are you getting the info of Pacquiao "fading after the first few rounds".....ummm....his last 7 fights (last two years of fights) have lasted at least 8 rounds and were all wins (with the exception of the 3rd Round Beating he gave Morales...lol).

June 28, 2008: David Diaz (9th Round TKO)
March 15, 2008: Juan Manuel Marquez (Split Decision)
October 6, 2007: Marco Antonio Barrera (Unanimous Decision)
April 14, 2007: Jorge Solis (8th Round KO)
November 18, 2006: Erik Morales (3rd Round KO)
July 7, 2006: Oscar Larios (Unanimous Decision)
January 21, 2006: Erik Morales (10th Round KO)

Now lets see...as far as I can tell, if your constantly winning late rounds that would prove the opposite of "fading early"....but then again, maybe that's just me....:dunno: It's not fading to come out tryingfor a quick Knockout and then shifting to a more conservative style to conserve stamina...I'd like to be labled a fighter who fades in early rounds and still knocks out guys in the 8-10th rounds...lol.

June 28, 2008: David Diaz (9th Round TKO) Pac man crushed DD
March 15, 2008: Juan Manuel Marquez (Split Decision) Manny fought far better in the first few rounds. I had Marquez winning by 2.
October 6, 2007: Marco Antonio Barrera (Unanimous Decision) A fight that was closer than the scorecards, again with Pac looking only 'ok' from the middle on.
April 14, 2007: Jorge Solis (8th Round KO) Who?
November 18, 2006: Erik Morales (3rd Round KO) Manny totally outclassed Morales, however, was Morales still in his prime? After very tough fights with MAB, Morales didn't appear to have lots left in the tank... but, a nice win for Manny.
July 7, 2006: Oscar Larios (Unanimous Decision) Outclassed a far weaker opponent
January 21, 2006: Erik Morales (10th Round KO) Dominating performance against one of the greats at featherweight; EM looked tired... impressive fight by Manny.

All I can say is DLH better beat Pacquaio for his own sake; Manny is TINY in terms of reach and weight compared to Oscar. This supposed catch weight should give Oscar a big advantage, probably 10-15 lbs or more on fight night, after rehydrating. I doubt Manny even walks around at 147, so he'll likely be right there. This fight is kind of ridiculous, really, as all DLH fights have been for a while now. It's closer to WWE than real boxing, in terms of just being more of a huge $$ showcase than anything. If Oscar cannot win this fight, he is truly out of gas, IMO.

If Pac is able to win, good on him, but I can't imagine he will look as powerful against a guy who is a true super welter/jr. middleweight as he has against 126 and 135 pounders.

Looks like odds are close at this point, but noticeably in DLHs favor. If you think Manny will win, place your bet!

LOL....very good points. But I have placed money n Pac-man...he's just a fighter I can't comfortably bet against...:dunno: I guess the difference I see is...DLH seems to only be in it for the money....were as Pac-man....sure he's making bank, just seems to be more into the fight for the pride and honor...I can back that any day

i prayed to God give me one of

a. blazers win over celts
OR
b. pac over hoya.

zers lost. maybe pac wins this???

hbo now showing 4 straight episodes of 24/7 for this fight. 9-11p pacific.

go manny!

I hope Pacquaio kicks De La Hoya's ass!

I'm pissed that Comcast isnt offering the fight in HD. $50 for no HD?!?!?

Anyone else a Hatton fan? I love that guy!!!

I would rather watch a six feet five inch tall truck driver fight either of those midgets.

I wouldn't pay to watch it, but I'll watch it on Justin.tv. Most of the time you can get a good feed for top fights and MMA fights. I watched Hopkins/Pavlik on there and Lesner/Couture.

I'll take Paquy by decision. I prefer Daisy DeLehoya

Love the Hitman. Would be fun to see him and Manny. Manny would destroy him, but at least it would be entertaining. Have the feeling tomorrow will be a dud.

HOLY SHNICKES!!! Pac-man destroyed DLH....from the first ring of the bell he made DLH his b!tch!!! It was almost sad to see him get beat like that.

Go Pinoy-Power!!! Pacquaio the Destroyer!!!
