Actually scratch that, if we manage to get up to #7 and still have a pick on our hands, I'd package those two and a future pick to move up to #4 or higher. Send that pick along with Harkless/Aminu/Crabbe for Porzingis and Melo.
Can Paul "Steve Francis" Carmelo?

No it doesn't. Why would Indiana want a past his prime player when they'd theoretically be rebuilding around Myles Turner?
Because Pritchard and McMillan lurve him so much.

This would make me scared if we didn't have him for another 4 years.

I wouldn't take it like "I need better players or I want out."

I would take it as "I want to win here, so I want/need a better supporting cast to do that." (which is obvious)

Just saw this. I believe it. Dame and Jaynes back and forth the other day, Dame also campaigning for PG. I think Dame is loyal but honestly hasn't gotten any help outside of CJ last two years. Now he will start calling shots as the franchise leader. I don't blame him. This team does need talent. Dame is in his prime. No sense in waiting. If you can pay out turner and crabbe stupid contracts, you can go out and get somebody with your "Assets". Dame could very well consider leaving at the end of his contract if we don't do something and just sell him on this whole "yeah maybe a couple years we will contend". nope. wasting his prime, averaged 27 and 7 this year

Seriously, though, the answer is because the Pacers' owner reportedly wants to sell the team, and a team that bottoms out in the lottery during a rebuild is worth much less than a team that can boast "a multi-year all star power forward" alongside an up and coming future-all-star center.

No he doesn't. That's some smarmy shit. I don't like you so you're not good at Defense? It's bitch-made.

I can't stand DONKEY!!! either but every team would love to have a Draymond Green type of player.

which is why I think we're drafting the Original Gangsta.

Am I the only one that kind of wants us to go in win now mode even if it hurt us longer term? I wanna compete and want to see Dame in his prime dominate pushing this Blazer team to the finals, I know I am getting ahead of myself but fuck man I am tired of getting bounced out of the first round

I'm with you... there is no point in holding onto Dame if you are not going all in to win now... he is 27 and this is his prime

That's what I mean and he has really been dropping names on twitter. Paul George multiple times, even Porzingis. CJ and Dame are super close so you know CJ is thinking the same which is why he is damn near name dropping everybody too including fucking Lamarcus Aldridge. These guys wanna win, they are tired of carrying around some of the bums they play with. And honestly who cares about the warriors dominance, they aren't unbeatable by any means. Who knows if a lottery pick even helps us, it's a toss up. Go after Paul George, Butler, etc. I know tonight isn't the only night to make moves we have july 1st too when all that madness starts, just get these guys some help

Of course. Except, Warriors.

I'd be offering #15, #20, and #26 with Turner for PG right now.

We contend for a year, and if he leaves, we could attach Harkless with Leonard and probably get a team to take them, and we could attach our 2018 1st to Crabbe (if needed) to shed him as well.

We could open up $40M in cap space before resigning Nurkic, and then try to go all-in again in a less wide-open (and therefore more enticing) free agent market than the one last year.

Stuff like this is how we contend. Take risks each year that have the ceiling of contention but the floor of flexibility.

I can't even believe CJ said this on twitter. You know you are desperate for help when you are thinking about Lamarcus saying, "People change"

I also don't find it a coincidence both Dame and CJ responded to two people who work for the Blazers. Dwight Jaynes and Jason Quick. They are probably tired of blazers media talking about how there is no need to make a move now and to be patient

Indy doesn't want to rehash the Turner thing bro.
