Yeah, I saw it on ABC and TNT. Rudy is hilarious when he says, "No, not that guy!" :biglaugh:

I'm not sure if you're being serious with this question, but yes, I believe you can use the other competitors as a prop, assuming they're willing.

I wish you could use unwilling competitors, too. You'd have to, like, chase the guy around and knock him out and then ... I dunno. Step on him or something. Maybe make an unconscious competitor pyramid as a launching pad...

Too bad Rudy doesn't want to compete in it. Unsurprisingly, he wants the rest instead.

"Make sure you tell the fans not to vote for me," Fernandez said with a smile. "The four days of rest for my body sounds better. But at the same time it would be a wonderful opportunity to see the All-Star Game live and to take part in the activities."

And this is likely Sergio's best and only chance to be seen on All-Star weekend and he doesn't want to help out his buddy.

Another dilemma for Fernandez is finding a partner for the contest. He admits if he is chosen, he would like to bring a teammate to throw lobs or bounce passes to him. Rodriguez, however, has already said "no way," citing his desire to be on a beach resting during the break.

"I need to work on Sergio, or maybe Brandon (Roy)," Fernandez said. "I don't know."

Roy said he would gladly assist Fernandez, particularly if he is already going to be in Phoenix for Sunday's main game. He said Fernandez asked him before Thursday's Christmas game if he would be open to the idea.

"I'd do it for Rudy," Roy said. "I wouldn't even think of going to it -- last year when I was there I took my family out to dinner on Saturday night and watched the dunk contest in the restaurant. But if I make it (to Phoenix), and he makes it, I'll do it, just to support my teammate. That's what it's about."

Brandon throwing lobs to Rudy? hahaha... that'd be funny to watch. I wonder if Brandon would call for the ISO play up top.

I voted for Rudy Fernandez. I'm glad Rudy Gay made it, but I hate that Robinson made it. I'd rather see Westbrooke or Andre Iggy over Nate Robinson. Robinson is just short and has a high vertical, but is an overrated dunker.

I think he would be better in the 3-point shoot out.

great we finally have guys who may be there, but want no part in it? Is this how all NBA payers feel or ? And Sergio..that's a dick move. You get 3 months to yourself to be on a beach and you won't even help out your teammate..shit, its not like you play very many minutes throughout the season dude!

Well, he is a rookie adjusting to the grind of a long season, playing big minutes and facing the prospect of a playoff run. I'd say he's smart in trying to get some rest when he can.

I've been htiting "back" and then "vote" and it said it was accepting it. I've done it 30 times today.

I'd love to see him in the dunk contest but he probably would be better off with some rest. People have been commenting on Rudy not doing as well in the last few games. He won't admit it but I think he's hit the rookie wall and could use a break to recharge.
