I really wanted a chance to play the Lakers in the playoffs. Honestly, I would've rather had the 8th seed if it meant we got to play them. Now that we're out, I want the Rockets to win so badly. I hope they rout the Lakers in Game 1 like they did to us. All the radio guys in LA think the Lakers are gonna win the series easily.

if the rockets had just handled their business in the final game against dallas when up by 14 halfway through the 3rd quarter(instead of getting outscored by 25 the rest of the way and losing by 11), the western conference playoffs would have been much better to me. dallas/houston first round would have been good with the rockets probably winning and then portland/san antonio would have been a nice matchup of youth vs experience with portland advancing.

then we could have the rockets/nuggets and blazers/lakers going on right now both of which would probably be better and more entertaining series than the two we have.

Re: Sucks we're not playing the Lakers tonight.

i'm still bitter so i really can't stand anyone left in the playoffs..wish there was a way they all could lose

Re: Sucks we're not playing the Lakers tonight.

Lakers in 5.

Re: Sucks we're not playing the Lakers tonight.

Yeah, it sucks. I'm starting to have Blazer withdrawals.

Re: Sucks we're not playing the Lakers tonight.

Well I hope we're playing you guys next year in the Western Conference Finals, you seem like contenders and have a large window of opportunity.

Never thought I'd say this...

But go LA. Fuck the Rockets, fuck their coach, and most importantly, fuck their fans!! What a bunch of bitches. They aren't going to get a single fan from the refs playing Kobe and LA.

The fact some Houston fans complained about us giving Mutumbo a standing ovation when he was injured, yet they threw out "Portland sucks" and, now I'm hearing, Martell Webster had to deal with being called the "N"-bomb in Houston?? Fuck their fans, they're garbage. LA in 5, and that one game, the NBA gives to Houston because China makes all the NBA gear.

Re: Never thought I'd say this...

so you're forgoing years and years of hating the Lakers just because the Rockets beat out a young, inexperienced and not ready for playoff success Blazers team??

nice... very cheap.

I'll NEVER root for those purple and gold bastards EVER.

Give me a break. This is all it takes for you to cheer for the Lakers??

I don't care what the Houston fans said or did to Martell. I want the Rockets to beat LA and I am going to be rooting hard for them.

No, because I don't respect redneck trash. And all the bitching and crying the team, the coach, their media, and their fans did. It was so over the top, I put them in the category of the Middle East. Blow it all up and start over. It's a whole different country. But don't get me started on the Celtics and their punk antics. Speaking of cheap, game tickets 6 and 7 to the Orlando-Boston series are very cheap. Since Orlando takes it in 5, maybe 6.

I guess I have morals. That shit just don't fly with me. I'm not cheering for LA. Make no mistakes. At least LA and their fans, generally speaking, respect the Blazers and other human beings. But I can't feel good if Houston (which they won't) takes this series. Regardless, for me, I'm going for the Eastern Conference to win it all, which is most likely Cleveland.

I'm going to thoroughly enjoy watching Houston get curb-stomped and Adelman's whining leading to no calls this time.

Between Phil and Rick, this is going to be as interesting off the court as it will be on the court. Incessant whining to get the calls going their way is going to happen throughout this series.

I'm kind of hoping an earthquake brings down the arena on top of both teams.

I'm rooting for LA. I will laugh if LA loses, but I want the Rockets out. I hate that team.

If you do, they're certainly misplaced.

mmmmmmaybe you should revisit the posts in the blazers section of S2, to see some bitching, crying and over the top reactions about the Blazers too.

every team has bad fans, you should know that by now.

and blah, blah, blah Celtics are still the champs until they get knocked out. You sour grapes over the title #17 does nothing to diminish how much I enjoyed it ;)

I could never go for the Lakers, even as much as I dislike the Rockets....I've only hated the Rockets for a few weeks, but hated the Lakers for years.

Some classy Blazers fans, and some tarded Blazers fans. Ironic how some hate fans of another city when the bile they spew out is just as bad (if not worse) than what they accuse others of.

Hypocrisy defined.

Sad...

This.

No Portland fan should root for the Lakers.

keep whining dude, at least our team made it to the 2nd round!

You guys lost to a team that hadn't even made it out of the first round in the past. WTH??

But Blazers vs Lakers would have been great, Blazers would have had a chance to beat the Lakers.

just like the Rockets have a chance at beating the Lakers 1-0 now! woohoo. Its one of the few things i can celebrate right now.

This.

Don't tell me who to root for. I am rooting for the Lakers to beat the Rockets. A lot of that has to do with wanting to see a Kobe-Lebron final. That intrigues me. I would certainly root for the Cavs to beat the Lakers, but I want to see that matchup if my Blazers are out of the running. Another part of me rooting for the Lakers is a little bit of disdain for the Rockets. I think I understand what Blazinggiants is saying. During the PDX/HOU matchup I was embarrassed for Adelman and Yao's constant whining. Sure, fans whine too, but these guys should act like Grown men. Yao is freaking 7 and a half feet tall. He should never be whining. And Adelman reminded me of how he whined when he was a Blazers coach. At the time I defended him. Now I see how annoying and embarrassing it really is. As for Houston fans, I got no beef with the fans on this board and real Houston fans, but I thought the fans who were at the game were very classless. Act like you have been there before. And dropping N-bombs on players is never defendable, let alone players who are injured and supporting their team. So I have a little bad taste in my mouth for the Rockets and the fans that attended their games. If the Rockets beat LA, I hope the Rockets go to the finals. Dallas and Denver are boring to me. If I can't see a Kobe-Lebron matchup, then I wouldn't mind seeing LeBron going toe to toe with a very good defensive team.

if you don't like whining, i don't see how you could want the lakers to win. gasol, vujacic, and kobe are crying about every single call, even blatant fouls they commit.

I didn't say I want the Rockets to lose for their whining, just that I had some disdain for the Rockets due to their whining. Believe me, I have plenty of disdain for the Lakers too. But I guess what I am saying is that it is not a classic white hats vs. black hats matcup. The Rockets have some warts too from my perspective. If the Blazers aren't in it, the only thing that intrigues me from a fan watching the finals is a Kobe vs. Lebron matchup in the finals. You know that is what Stern is hoping for, as are I suspect most fans of basketball. I aint rooting for the Lakers to win it all, just to get there and lose. If the Rockets beat the Lakers I might be entertained by the Rockets in the finals, but probably significantly less so.
