Merged: Who would you give up for Paul George?

Should I drive up there after work for some recon? Pacers' HQ is like a 10 min walk from me. I might go peek in through some blinds. hmm
So I live in Tualatin now. I've driven by the practice facility so many times. I've thought something similar, but really I'd just get thrown out or arrested.

Doesn't he play the same position as their best player? How is that going to work? Do they think Kawhi can play SG? IND tried to play PG13 as a stretch 4 and he absolutely hated it. Both of them are best at SF. If the Spurs do land him one of their two best players is going to be forced to play out of position. Not sure if that's a successful recipe for re-signing PG13 next summer.

He can play the 2, 3, and 4.

The proof will eventually be in the pudding, but you have to admit KP is doing a damn good job of at least drumming up interest for PG.

With all the signs that he's moving to LA, the fact that he's getting all this trade discussion/these offers means he's doing something right.

Paul George played SG when he first got into the league. PG can play the 2.

That was 7 years ago as a lanky 20-year old coming off the bench. He had never been a starting SG and has filled out and bulked up since then. I don't think he has the handle or the quickness to plays SG at this point in his career. SF is definitely his strongest position, by far, followed by stretch 4 - which he hates playing.

Of the two, I think Kawhi is much better suited to playing the 2, but again it's not his BEST position.

I don't think there'd be much difference for Leonard playing the 2 as opposed to the 3. Both can be combined into a "wing" position, with essentially 100% overlap in the skillset. George can continue defending small forwards and Leonard has no problem with any type of perimeter player.

OK Zag fans would you trade Zach along with filler i.e Crabbe, Leonard, and Swanigan (Indiana ties) to the Pacers for PG?

KP is grandstanding. He's trying so hard to get something useful for PG.

Yep, and every day his trade value goes down.

The fact that George didn't get traded today makes me feel better about not getting him. It tells me IND's expectations were unrealistic. Supposedly nearly every team in the league made an offer, but none of them were "good enough". It's called market value. Given George's potential lame duck status, Pritchard is overestimating his value. The market has spoken. They have told you what 1-year of Paul George is worth.

Hypothetical, would you do a deal for him at the 2018 trade deadline if we were the number 7 seed in the WC standings?
