I'm on this side. I grew up saying that word but it doesn't mean anything to me to stop saying it. I may slip up from time to time but I try.No, I decided to point out that using a word that is offensive to many people, is just that. Offensive.
It's not "good vs evil". I happen to work with people with various disabilities and using that term (in passing) is offensive.
Why not just go "sorry, I'll try harder" instead of sticking to your guns?
It takes less effort to just change 1 word than it does for you to keep coming up with excuses for saying it.
If there's anyone on Earth that deserves a little protection and sympathy it is someone who has a condition that is no fault of their own.
