The same generals who leave military hardware all over the planet....yup...generals don't procure jets...they put in requests and others make those decisions...they don't build them either...scary thing is, some of them want to escalate an arms race and Trump is excited about that possibility...

Surrender means you have no will to fight and run away. That's not on the soldiers, it's on the surrenderer-in-chief. The soldiers just follow orders.

That's exactly what we did.

you can dissect it anyway you want but first it would help if you understood what you're spouting.....again....get a clue about what surrender means and respect the guys who are there making the sacrifices.....you insult good people in our armed services everytime you do this....I think it's pretty shallow of you. Surrender more often than not has nothing to do with lacking the will to fight or running away...more often than not it's to save lives. I thought you read history? We have never surrendered under Obama..until you stop using the term to describe our involvement overseas.....you've just lost all credibility in any war conversation...hard to believe you would go this far to just dig at Obama out of your own dislike of the man....

I am being quite precise in my use of the term, and I'm using it correctly.

If we didn't surrender, there'd be no ISIS, and they wouldn't be using the weapons we left behind to them.

There's always a hezbolla, hamas, al quaida, isis, isil, ira......they're like shape shifters but again.....you NEED to blame Obama for these jerks...if you read their agenda....it's not a new organization....it's an old movement in a different place than before.
 
Would be refreshing if you actually took ISIS to task for their actions rather than use them as anti Obama fuel

hezbollah, et al, didn't declare a calphate, occupy vast swaths of land in a country we gave up blood and treasure to establish as a democracy, nor are they generally a terrorist threat across europe and in the USA.

The comments about the Zumwalt are some what right although the comment about no need to support troop landings is a short of the mark.
What is missing is direct fire support capabilities and you don't need a rail gun for that. About three 5" 62 Mark 45s will do just fine, especially if the ship is designed light enough to be of shallow
draft so it can get in close enough to be a direct fire support weapons system.
