Merry Christmas: Denver @ Portland Thread

Pendergraph can really fight for a board and is stronger than I thought. Cool. Now if he could just keep himself between his man and the ball on D...

Where would we be without Roy tonight? Bayless is not doing anything offensively tonight, but as I said that is alright, he is learning. B-Roy put it best, he seems to be having a lot of focus on himself as well potentially freeing up someone else.

I'm not sure if Pendy is gonna be enough, but he's looking pretty good on the boards tonight, and I like it even more that he's not afraid of K-mart.

He's getting to the line pretty well (4 FTA) when he wants, and has made mostly good decisions wih the ball -good passes, if not good shots. The shocker for me is that he's getting doubled so much. It's great to see him get that much attention when he was just getting DNP-CD's such only weeks ag. The league is really only on notice.

Roy is just flat out hitting tonight. I can't believe the Blazers are still right in this, with Denver giving them everything (even the Jekyll version of JR Smith showed up). Wow.

Gonna need way more from LaMarcus and/or Bayless in the second half, we're basically in this because Brandon is playing superhero tonight.

Loving the game tonight but we gotta start playing some defense. Brandon Roy is having one of the best games of his career. Probably his best first half ever. So efficient.

Go Blazers!!!

Bayless will NOMNOM it up in the 2nd half, I think the coaches will let him know what's going on and what to tweak. He's just seeing a ton more defensive pressure now. Which is good! he'll bring out the brexasaraus here soon

He forced up a couple shots that he shouldn't have, but other then that he has done well, played pretty under control, and as you said made some nice passes. Eventually if Roy just keeps hitting in the third and fourth they will be paying much, much closer attention to him giving Bayless the opportunity.

bayless getting doubled is great, frees up other guys.

blake has never been doubled in his life.

I'm sure he doubled a few times in college.....

btw, they HAVE to start off the 3rd strong. none of this typical slow-starts to the 3rd quarter on national TV that they normally do.

They can not let Denver get back up by 7-11 points in quick fashion. That's Denver's M.O.

I don't want to see Chris Andersen slowly walking off the court as though he's not going to choke in the playoffs this year.

i was really hoping pendegraph was gonna come out and be amare out of nowhere. oh well.

he can shoot the trois.

Wow 4 fouls on Anthony, could be big.

He won't see 5

Could be true, but he will be limitied if he is to guard Roy in the 4th (assuming it is still close and he takes the assignment like he usually does).

They don't guard Miller for the jumpshot and that hurts us.
I have never seen a 10 year veteran more afraid to take a stationary jump shot than Andre Miller! He seems to me more comfortable shooting off the dribble. Why doesn't just put it on the floor for one step and then shoot?

Btw, I was really hoping they wouldn't show a re-play of Joel's injury and they showed an angle that's WAY worse than any other video footage. You saw his knee right when his patella dislocated w/ the screams. Thanks, ESPN.

Jesus will the refs let the players play?! Every play there's a foul.

This happened the last time we played Denver. The refs blew phantom calls for both sides. Couldn't play physical at all.

Let me guess Eric, now that Bayless is having a bad game, he's the worst player in the league?

Well Miller and Webster stepped up a bit when Bayless and Aldridge are just plain off.

Bad matchup for Bayless. Too many shot blockers in the lane for the Nugs and they are in his grill on the perimeter
