A bourbon ball is midway between cookie and candy. First make chocolate wafer cookies and grind to crumbs. Grind pecans and powdered sugar, add corn syrup and bourbon and mix to paste. Add this mixture to cookie crumbs and mix together. Last step messy so best to wear disposable gloves. Shape tablespoons of mixture into balls and roll in granulated sugar three times. Set aside in closed container to ripen at least a week and up to a month, flavor improves. They can also be made with rim or brandy.
Mom used to make these with cherry flavor and no alcohol for us when we were younger, then make rum balls for the adults. I think she used powdered sugar though.
 
I got a cold. Doesn't happen often but one of the guys who installed my new kitchen counters last week was sniffling, and breathing sawdust probably didn't help. Saturday ran through every tissue in the house, was on my second roll of toilet paper when I begged a box of tissues from a neighbor. Stores are packed, the thought of half an hour in line while snorting into toilet paper just wasn't appealing.
