Today at Walmart I told the cashier Happy Thanksgiving. She said, "Happy Turkey Day." I smiled and said, "You don't have to be afraid anymore. President Trump gave us Thanksgiving back." She started crying tears of joy & said "Happy Thanksgiving" and everyone in the store clapped.

It annoys me that anyone gives Trump credit for anything....Thanksgiving...the day white Europeans ate with the locals and then took their lands

I have also felt like calling it "Turkey day" instead of Thanksgiving completely disregards the spirit of the day in the first place.

POTUS Trump spent Thanksgiving Day with our troops in Afghanistan. While he was there he got the Taliban to restart peace negotiations.

Back at home, former Democrat Guv of Maryland Martin O’Malley got totally bombed again at a pub high school reunion and chased a DHS official around screaming obscenities and racial slurs.

Thanks, POTUS Trump, for continually leading by inspirational example.

What I am most grateful for today is the absolute discipline with which you stay in the Maris character. It can’t be easy, especially with the lack of material you have to work with these days. But you never lag and you do an admirable job despite that lack of material. But then, I guess that someone has to do it.......

haha.....you UCD are a real American!

Has one person ever complained about the word Thanksgiving? Or is it some made up thing from the Trumpkins?
I don't get this one either....it's like liberals stopped celebrating the holiday to spite his voting base. The guy is a complete bs artist

AIM and other American Indian activist organizations have for over 50 years demanded that the government proclaim the day “A National Day of Mourning”. It’s a major focus for them, and I am sure they would be disappointed to find out none of you have ever heard about it.

Sort of like how you 'found' a certain picture of a native american taken in 1908. When this individual passed away in 1812?
Then claimed you never posted such thing after I quoted your own post?
Yep

Bruh the National Day of Mourning has been taught in schools for at least 20 years. As I learned about it in the 5th grade.
You should roleplay on reddit. People don't question you, nor remember things there.

Wait. Calling Thanksgiving 'Turkey Day' is a SJW thing? Since when? My dad and I've been saying ' Happy Turkey Day since I was a little boy and there wasn't any political connotations or anything else it was just to be clever.

Especially since most SJWs are vegan. I doubt they use Turkey day.

....I'm sure most have heard of it but the calendar hasn't changed, nor the western tradition. Nobody says "Happy National Day of Mourning" In the end, being thankful for a good harvest and sharing a meal with family or friends is what it comes down to in modern age..

You just agreed with my post but got your panties in a bundle again anyway?

It low key annoys me how people treat Thanksgiving like it's some kind of religious holiday. It's not Christmas. You don't need to worry about offending someone.
It started out as religious. It was thanks to God for providing enough for winter.
My family treats it as religious, but I do agree with you that for plenty of Americans there is nothing particularly religious about it.

Why are you so interested in some fantasized panties of H. C.'s?

I lack the energy and ambition to read most of the board, but sometimes I rise to the occasion to do my duty and read a thread. Fortunately in my old age, I have acquired the artistic and economic skills to find the gems. I thought, "It's about Magnifier! I'll pick this one. I'll learn a lot."

Like Mags would ever go to a Walmart.
We used to have an attorney. I first learned of him when I was just out of the Army and he would visit my parents. He was a well known attorney whose father was once the DA of Portland. He did have an alcohol problem which annoyed the hell out of me since I don't have a lot of use for alcoholics although I'm working on trying to understand their plight and all the myriad of problems that can lead to alcoholism.
So, about ten or twenty years ago, I learned that he left Portland and went to Arizona where he got a job as a Walmart greeter. Talk about falling from great heights. Oh, he passed away several years ago. I attibute his passing to a combination of alcoholism and advanced age.
The moral to the story? For some of you who hit the bottle a little too hard, there's always a job at Walmart as a greeter.
