Meyers Leonard

I know of no other player in NBA history who scored more than 80% of his swish2s in 2 playoff series and who sets better screens for Dame, CJ, and others than Meyers. I would be enthusiastic to have him return to the Blazers to be coached by Chauncey , Scott, Roy, and Steve.

Thanks for the stats! It shows he has chemistry with our Guards.

Sorry I meant the last 2 or 3 players on this roster not 2/3rds.

Then, yes, I would say he's better.

Doesn't sound like he had much interest in coming back to Portland, but maybe that was a Stotts/Olshey thing. Not that he can be picky anymore

I'm jewish and I forgive him, don't even know exactly what he said but I never thought too highly of his intelligence to begin with.
I do however have issues with his defensive iq, granted playing for Stotts no one seemed to have a clue but Leonard might be to the point that even Billups can't fix.
Offensively, he is a very good player.

Meyers is a massive defensive liability. This team needs bigs who can defend, not shoot 3s

The team is on the border of getting out of the luxury tax, they might be able to make a move by the trade deadline to get under it. Cutting a player and signing Meyers would reduce the chance the team can get under the luxury tax.

After the trade deadline or if the above issue is resolved prior I'd be fine with cutting one of McLemore, Elleby, or Brown and signing Meyers for an end of the bench spot. Although I'm fine if the team doesn't as well. Meyers doesn't have value above an end of the bench emergency minute player. Those guys have the advantage of being up to speed on the teams plays/schemes.

I wouldn't cut anyone to give that slow as molasses bum a spot on the roster.

This is just simple.
Why? Why would they want to associate with him again? Just Why?
There are better options for the same or even less money.

Wow 3 for 3 so far and am surprised that our forgiveness meter is not registering not even a bit.
I personally don't think he meant ill, he's just a socially inept doofus. But I also think we're better off with Cody playing whatever minutes he would take. Kinda surprised NOBODY's taken a shot on him. Nobody wants people just because they're tall any more.

For the 1st half of the WCF game 4 against the Warriors, Meyers scored 5 of 6 swish3s and 5 of 6 two pointers actually outscoring Steph. The fact that Meyers also scored over 80% of swish3 in an earlier playoff series makes him unique in the NBA, not just another tall player.

Meyers did not have a big man coach or defensive coach improving his skills in his last 3 years as a Blazer, but was highly coachable. There are a lot of reasons why he could provide a strong boost to the Blazer front line, especially in the playoffs. We need the tall player talent!

Remember Meyers?

It wasn’t entirely the game incident. I can totally see him getting all ragey and amped during COD. It’s like his NBA career in a nutshell really. If only he had that confidence on the court.

If he wanted/needed to get paid he’d be playing somewhere even if it’s not the NBA. Couldn’t he play in the G-League? If he dominated G-League he’d get an NBA contract again. If not then he’s more black balled than Kanter.

I would have no problem bringing him back on a minimum contract if we can't find a 7'1" defender.

I couldn't put my finger on it, but something just seems....old white guy who is slow and not that good.

Like, his problem was he moved like his legs were made of concrete, and now he moves like...his legs are made of concrete.

Looks bigger than he's ever been. Roids. I always liked him but on the bench cheering

Not a single move in that entire video would work against an NBA level player, LMAO.

Bro that dude is playing James Harden quality defense though, and James Harden is an NBA All-Star

Meyers would be a major solution to the Blazers center talent, and I would love to see him return to be coached by Chauncey. Meyers is the only player to have outperformed Steph Curry (in WCF game 4), and he scored >80% of swish3s in the playoffs twice in his career. No one else did that.

Let's find a way to bring him back and cheer for a Blazer NBA Championship!

If you say Meyers Leonard 3 times in front of a mirror at night, swish3 will appear
