explaining why Cashman and his herd are geniuses in
developing their 'plan' for the present Yankee team.......
they have a fluid roster with his pro active maneuvering
of players 'up and down' from the parent club..... kudos
to the Yankee front office.....they(Cashman & his assts.)
are playing the game smartly. Wow! It must be nice
to be on the Yankee payroll. I want to throw up.

...I forget which one it was, but during the game today when they announced that Gardner had been selected by Yost to the AS Game, one of them actually suggested that since Gardner no longer needed to be voted in, the votes he had received up till now should be transferred to ARod...I shit you not.

It was Michael Kay. He's become such a shill
for this organization.....I wonder if he gets a
check every time he spews such nonsense.
He has to fill quiet time on the air. Silence
would be much more listenable.

I heard that too Ron, it was Kay, the corporate suck up. I've heard him say some really dumb things of late. Yes......................more then usual.

Yeah but Kay also wants a reaction. That's his job. If you listen to his show on ESPN Radio you know what's he's doing. No different than Francesa taking stances you know he can't possibly believe.

Two things are certain as we speak Michael Kay notwistanding:
1) Yanks HAVE dipped into and used their farm system, and the players have contributed.
2) Yanks are doing okay despite their bottom three and defense being a sieve.

Just thought I'd throw it out there before I puked.

I feel better now.

What I'd like to see and I think we will is Luis Severino getting called up. There's nothing left for him to do in the minors. He's 4-0 in AAA with a 1.99 ERA.

Yep. And I noticed Greg Bird has been promoted to AAA.

Schtick or not.....there is a better was to stir discussion of the "plan". This hyperbole just looks idiotic.

The nice thing about MLB Xtra Innings, is: all Home games are televised via YES. While all Road Games, are broadcast by the Home Teams Station......

A nice relief of Kay and Cone. If Cone could only talk like he pitched, and just stay silent as well.

But then there are some real undesirable Broadcasters on the Road: Ken Hawk Harrelson, "it gone", if I hear that again, I'm gonna' puke. Buck Martinez (stick with video games).......Worst Game Caller I've ever heard, was the Halos Homer- Rex Hudler,

I get why Van Gogh cut off his ear, but not both....?

There's that word again......the grand plan of geniuses......!!

I still say one of the worst calls ever made was by Yankee broadcaster Bill White's call of the Bucky Dent HR. against Boston. And I loved White in the booth with Rizzuto & Murcer.

I was going to say I miss Scooter & Murcer, and White too......

As much, Mel Allen one of my all time favorites, Ernie Harwell with Detroit, Red Barber, and WTF, Vin Scully was supposed to retire after last year with 65 Seasons, thats got to be one Hell of a Record, wonder who's 2nd and with how many years....?

I thought Joe Torre by Himself, doing Angels Games for the Singing Cowboy; both play by play and Color Commentary, alone without that loud mouth know it all Reggie by his side for 2 miserable yrs. Joe was pure class tho' and did the games by Himself for several years, often with guest Commentators, like Sparky Anderson, Dick Williams, et al.

On the Mets side I also enjoyed the threesome of Ralph Kiner, Bob Murphy & Linsey Nelson.

Rick, who were the radio game commentators for the 1905 Giants, and Yanks also, you listened too....? I think Vin Scully called all those dead ball to present Bums games, so it seems.......:bgrin:

Wasn't that before tube radios, when all games were fed to Fans via Tin Can and string, from the Ball Parks, from the Suburbs, and Manhattan; to the East tip of Long Island..........???

Or didn't some games get called, by a guy standing on street corners, outside a teletype station, translating and relaying Morse Code; to the gathered fans; while yelling into a megaphone.......?

Indeed, call Him up, no doubt we should see both Severino and Aaron Judge by September........both could easily make an impact (big splash) hopefully, during "the push" to Post Season........!

...Francessa, Skip Bayless, and those like them obviously stir the pot with bombastic statements purely for the sake of creating rhetoric on their own shows...but I think I should feel safe from that kind of drivel during a Yankees game.

The Yes team does get out of control and tells some tales, but for blatant "homerism" take a listen to a Rays Broadcast headed by Dewayne Staats and crew with interjections by Todd Kalas. One obviously hears a lot of Rays propaganda in this area but Staats and crew are beyond ridiculous. Last game with the Yankees found Staats making comments about the Rays "sending a message" to the Yankees ect. Then you got Kalas making his stupid comments. There was an incident during a rain delay where the TB team was caught mocking Bob Sheoherd , a man whose vocal and announcing abilities went beyond any one in the business.

I forgot all about Dewayne Staats, and didn't know he was calling games. I'll have to force myself to sit down and take in a couple of Innings, only when Archer is pitching.

Sounds alot like the out of control, hair on fire, Halo's Homer; bleeding Angels Red; Rex Hudler.
If a Yank hit a HR, or drove in a run, even if a Yank made an incredible play, Hudler would NOT acknowledge what just happened, unless it was the Angels, and screw all the rest, was his policy/motto.........

I found nothing wrong with Bill White's call on Bucky Dent's HR....in fact, I thought it was rather exciting.

To say the least, at least we weren't subjected to Michael Kay's lame scratchy voice➡"see ya"....."see ya".

This guy Kay, who has somehow wormed his way into a peachy high profile job, (Yankee TV announcer) wouldn't/couldn't get the job years ago once they heard one of his sound room voice tests...focusing on how "thrilling" and/or easy on the ears his demonstrative "excited" calls sound like...and Kay is in the category with includes running your finger nails on a blackboard.

I thought Bill White was terrific...and I miss him being with the Yankee crew.

"Deep to left, Yastremski is not gonna get it" Really Bill? what gave it away? perhaps the 37 foot high wall & the fact that Yaz was only 5'11.

And I was a big Bill White fan, but unless Yaz had a vertical leap of 30+ feet the flight of that ball made it pretty clear that at the very least it was going to hit way high up the wall.

first of all how the hell does kay have this job. even more how the hell does he have that wife?

Sorry I don't agree. I think it was a great call. You have to put it in the context of who hit the ball as well. Dent was the last guy anyone would expect to put one over the monster in that situation.

Indeed, Dent had only 4 HR's on the Year, prior to His 5th Game Winner in Fenway, I know I sure as hell did NOT ever expect Bucky to hit a HR in any game....let alone in such a memorable 1 game playoff decisive game...

...Dent also choked up on the bat as much as any player I ever saw.

...there's also a bit of irony involving the pitcher Bucky hit that HR off of.

I understand what you guys are saying but just the part where he says "Yastremski's......not gonna get it" when it was obvious to everyone that the ball was going to to hit AT LEAST high off the wall.

59, I'll bite, whats the Irony of Dent hitting his HR off of Torrez, or rather Torrez himself??????

I got ya' now Rick, your right, the HR Bucky hit, did not look at all like it had the trajectory to clear the Wall, ......I recall the moment, thinking it was going to be high off the wall myself, without White's input.........

...Torrez pitched for the Yanx the year before (1977) and got 2 victories in the WS...and was on the mound and caught the final out of the Series clincher. (a bunt pop up by Lee Lacy).

...so essentially, he's a hero for the Yanx one year and the next year he's the goat for the Sox.
