...Torrez pitched for the Yanx the year before (1977) and got 2 victories in the WS...and was on the mound and caught the final out of the Series clincher. (a bunt pop up by Lee Lacy).

...so essentially, he's a hero for the Yanx one year and the next year he's the goat for the Sox.

ah, Thanks, I appreciate that much, (I hate to admit my Memory is not what it once was, but then what is or was).......

Or was a hero for the Yankees in back to back years lol.

On the Mets side I also enjoyed the threesome of Ralph Kiner, Bob Murphy & Linsey Nelson.

Late at night, after a long day.....I read this once again over. Tired; seeing more cross eyed, with the Zoom On.......I could of sworn I had mis-read this post, on the 1st view, as I could of swore it said, Leslie Nielsen instead of Linsey Nelson.

I literally had a WTF moment, long enough to realize it is too late, to try and read straight, when everything is otherwise.......

"Deep to left, Yastremski is not gonna get it" Really Bill? what gave it away? perhaps the 37 foot high wall & the fact that Yaz was only 5'11.

And I was a big Bill White fan, but unless Yaz had a vertical leap of 30+ feet the flight of that ball made it pretty clear that at the very least it was going to hit way high up the wall.

Aha, it WAS Yaz, who Air Jordan learned to leap from, now I know......
