I saw Top Gun in the theater tonight and yeah, Mickey has a point.

Seriously though… so tired of actors taking themselves too seriously.

They pretend to be someone else for money. It’s not rocket science. They’re not doctors. They aren’t curing cancer. They’re not taking pictures of deep space. They’re not running into burning buildings to save lives.

Their job is to entertain. I think they lose sight of that. Tom Cruise makes entertaining movies. Tons of them. He might be a creepy human being who supports Scientology. He might not be an amazing actor. He might be in the closet. Does he do his job and make entertaining movies? Yes? Cool. That’s all I care about.

I go to movies to forget about the world and enjoy myself. I recently saw Top Gun 2 and I enjoyed the shit out of it. Mission accomplished. He isn’t irrelevant.

FTFY.

Come on dude, that was a fun movie.
Sure, it was fun enough and had good quality action. Those just aren't my favorite type of movies. Legit fell asleep in the theater to a Cruise film a number of years ago, don't remember what but I think MI2. Just a preference. The predictability of those type of movies kind of ruins it for me.

Also , starting with his weird intro gave me some serious "Garth Brooks is a serial killer" vibes.
