Everyone in Trump's administration seems to be on board with supporting Israel. Biden and Harris were being mealy mouthed on this issue, but kept supporting Israel all the same. So that's the greatest risk I see with the Trump administration, is bringing us to war with Iran.

But Trump didn't bring us to war with Iran during his 1st term, even though he could have used their bombing of one of our bases as an excuse to.

I hate to say this, but America is probably going to need to get a major black eye, before people wake up to the fact that we need to co-exist in the world with much more diplomacy, rather than being the bully of the world.

stealing food from children is simply a crime against humanity. stealing food from starving adults is a crime against humanity. this has NOTHING to do with soldiers waging war, it's civilians stealing from their neighbors. how Israeli's could ever contribute to genocide given the holocaust that led to their own flights from their previous homelands. Horrible hypocrisy!
 
So when someone says the Democrats are beholden to Israel, everybody on the left presents (accurate) examples of how Republicans are also beholden to Israel.

It’s funny, so many are just one step removed from saying the truth out loud. They’ve worked out the entire equation and showed their work, but refuse to jot down the answer. Wonder why?

He's already taking credit by announcing that "we" have an agreement in place, deliberately preempting an announcement by the Biden White House. Biden did the grunt work and got a deal done and Trumps grandstands on it. Who da thunk?? What a disgusting waste of human DNA.........

Also, Trumps Mideast envoy completely negotiated and facilitated this deal. Biden is taking credit where he deserves less than none, but to be fair the guy has no idea what is going on at all.

Statement from President JoeBiden

Today, after many months of intensive diplomacy by the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire and hostage deal. This deal will halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much needed-humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity.

I laid out the precise contours of this plan on May 31, 2024, after which it was endorsed unanimously by the UN Security Council. It is the result not only of the extreme pressure that Hamas has been under and the changed regional equation after a ceasefire in Lebanon and weakening of Iran — but also of dogged and painstaking American diplomacy. My diplomacy never ceased in their efforts to get this done.

Even as we welcome this news, we remember all the families whose loved ones were killed in Hamas’s October 7th attack, and the many innocent people killed in the war that followed. It is long past time for the fighting to end and the work of building peace and security to begin. I am also thinking of the American families, three of whom have living hostages in Gaza and four awaiting return of remains after what has been the most horrible ordeal imaginable. Under this deal, we are determined to bring all of them home.

I will speak more about this soon. For now, I am thrilled that those who have been held hostage are being reunited with their families.
