Obviously this is a bit premature, but that's what's so fun about doing these votes. We can look back at this and possibly laugh about the state of the team.

So before knowing anything about how this team fares, do you think the Blazers may make a mid-season trade this season?

It all depends, I think it will happen because I think we will be so very close to being 'elite' by the All-Star break that we make a move that puts us in the Finals or WCF.

I think it would only happen if it is a deal we would be stupid to pass up, like getting a super sub or star player in return. Chances of that maybe slim, IMO.

I said yes because that means we would be bolstering for playoffs or tanking. No more good enough for the first round bullshit

Depends on how some of our movable assets look in the early part of season and increase their value. We don't have any tradeable pieces as is to get someone that will push us to elite status. But if Myers improves and TRob/CJ become serviceable, they can possibly attract suitors by the trade deadline.

Given all our expiring contracts I think so, much depends upon how the season progresses and injuries and such, but O can see it happening

Yes, purely because of the Thomas Robinson no pick up.

This is a big one, if we can trade T-Rob and get a true 6th man who is playoff experienced you gotta do it. Gerald Green and Gerald Henderson would be two slashers I'd like to see but they are both pretty big unknowns in important do or die games in the playoffs. Kevin Martin or OJ Mayo (I know not many like him but the dude can score at will when he is on) would be a good rentals.

I voted yes. I like the Blake pickup, but if he gets hurt or God forbid Dame gets hurt.....we will need to trade for a PG.

Kevin Martin is a loser. I want no part of him. OJ maybe a decent pick-up, but I worry he will be another "me first ball hog" type player.

Henderson and Green would be wonderful, but I also agree with you about concerns during playoff time.

I actually think Barton and T. Rob could net a player of Matrix's caliber. An aging stud that can be another veteran piece off the bench.

Yeah, i bet we could get a decent vet on a bad team or one that thought they were going to the playoffs but won't be.

Olshey IS a chemistry major. I doubt a trade happens.

Hibbert will find his way to Portland somehow.

Trading someone to get better should never hurt chemistry, I mean our team has a strong foundation right now that would probably be infectious to newcomers. No doubt in my mind that nearly any nba player could come to our locker room and succeed (Felton and Jr Smith excluded).

Yeah..I would have to think that we make a trade without regards to how we are playing. Last year was a "Lets see what we have" year..off season was "Lets improve with what little we have to work with" and by trade deadline, management will try to acquire the guy or guys to get to the next level, or to reshuffle the deck.

That would be nothing to shake a stick at.
