He doesn't deserve to have the streak after the pussy stunt he pulled to extend it, so good. C) Lou Gehrig already had the all-time streak by the time the Game in Question Occured. So that's a little different because he was already the title holder who had done it fair and square. Granted, I never saw the game in 1934 though, so I wasn't aware of that or if that's even true. It's still a weak stunt though. The record means nothing if you're going to resort to cheap stunts like that to extend it.

And about Ripkin's streak, the closest he came to not playing was in 1993, when he twisted his knee in a fight. And how is this for cheap: During the players strike in 94-95, Peter Angelos said he would not be using replacement players b/c he didn't want Ripkin's streak to end

Again, Who cares what Peter Angelos said? Cal Ripken's streak would have been reaconized either way because of the Strike being the reason he didn't play.</div>

An oddity I found, if you are tossed for any reason, if you didn't play long enough to have been considered playing a game, the ejection won't end your streak

Or he should take a pitch and then get pulled for a pinch hitter. Either way, he's not a pussy and nobody cares that he did that. On ESPN they also mentioned it was the manager's call to put him in to try and help him on the streak. This was before he learned of Tejada's broken wrist. Anywho, did you actually care if he did this once in over 1,100 games? A. He wasn't close to breaking the record.B. He needed more than double the amount of games he already had, so there would probably have been some sort of issue in between as well. It's not everyday you see people playing over 2,000 games in their career straight in a professional sport. C. Referring back to his bunt. You can't sit here and tell me that most people in this world could bunt a 90 MPH ball with a broken wrist. I know for one, that would fucking hurt like hell.

I did some reading, Tejada would have had to play thru the 2016 season when he'd be 40 to break the record. The streak started in mid-2000. And I don't think he will be back when he can come of the DL. This is the same bone Derrek Lee broke last year, and it took him 6 weeks for the bone to heal, and then 2 months to regain strength in the wrist
