Nelson: bigtime MEH
Dragic: Decent but not a player that will turn things around.
Billups: Maybe as an assistant coach.
Udrih: Meh
Terry: Age, contract, role -- not a good fit.
Hill: Another scoring guard. Mediocre playmaker at best.
Lin: Love his upside but we'd have to severely overpay for NY not to match.
Brooks: Decent backup.

These are the type of FA signings, outside a few, that will keep this team in purgatory for years to come.

Grain of salt. That said, Lin would pay for himself probably, and be a splash. Not likely though

Kendall Marshall will probably have to be the 11th pick if this is what we have to choose from if we miss out on Dragic (who i am not that excited about acquiring either tbh)

"Dreaming big" is how Larry Miller put their mindset this summer...

This list is a good example why you shouldn't have a shoe guy as your talent evaluator.

Assuming Billups was actually healthy by then, i suppose he would be ok if they did go after Marshall.

Dreaming big could just mean he's a chubby chaser...hm, that might be a bit stereotyping there...

Lin would be a cash cow. His popularity will inevitably drop in the domestic market, but his following will still be strong overseas.

He had the 2nd highest jersey sales this year behind only DRose.

He is definitely high on the list for me, but as has been said we would have to really overpay for him to get him away from NY.

Of the FA PG's Lin would be my first choice with Dragic close behind.

The rest of the guys on Rice's list aren't on my radar, and for good reason.

I don't get this George Hill love.

He has never averaged more than 3 APG in his career. You're in trouble if you expect him to run the offense full-time.

Clearly a combo guard but would be nice to have as a backup gunner.

Well it's comforting to know that Mike Rice can look up all of the point guards entering free agency ... minus Felton strangely enough though.

Nelson: bigtime MEH. Couldn't agree more
Dragic: Decent but not a player that will turn things around. Dragic is actually pretty damn good. His numbers and and PER are very solid as a starter
Billups: Maybe as an assistant coach. hahaha. Exactly
Udrih: Meh Double meh for me
Terry: Age, contract, role -- not a good fit. Jamal Crawford all over again
Hill: Another scoring guard. Mediocre playmaker at best. Hill wouldn't be the worst choice if the new coach let Nic be more of a point forward
Lin: Love his upside but we'd have to severely overpay for NY not to match. Lin is a turnover machine that the league will scout and his numbers will come down
Brooks: Decent backup. I agree as well

Lowry is a guy I wish they'd go after too. He also has pretty darn good numbers

when Darren Collison went down towards the end of the season moving GH into a starting role, Indiana went 7-2. He was pretty productive averaging 33.7 Min, 14.8 points on 45% shooting, 5.4 assists vs 0.9 TOs, 3.8 RBs, and making 1.5 3's on 35%

he's continued to start & produce in the playoffs & the Pacers have continued to win

He shouldn't be super expensive either.

Hard to see Indiana letting him go. Hometown guy, playing well atm. You'd have to massively overpay.

So yeah, I would think he's pretty expensive if you actually want a chance to sign him. (He's an RFA)

Lin is not a RFA is he? I thought he was a FA with questionable bird rights (like Hickson). So, he may or may not like being in NYC.

I'd be happy with signing Nash to a 2-3 year deal and drafting Marshall for the long term.

So IND is going to sign him AND resign Hibbert to big money????

$13 million to Granger, $10 million to West, $12+ million to Hibbert (very likely), another $11 million tied up in salaries....They have a guard to easily slot in his spot (Collison)...I think chances are good that if he gets a good offer, they will let him go....

Yeah he is more of a scoring guard, most of the better guards are any way. But he is still young at 24, good size, scoring ability and IMO would fit in nicely with Batum & LA....

Would you guys really want to bring Lin here with this medical staff? More meniscus issues for them to fuck up on. We need to cut our trainers ASAP before we focus on getting players, LOL - pipedream
