Awful and horrible. I just don't get dudes like this AT ALL. Even if they are poor this behavior is shameful and disgusting. A rich guy with a beautiful wife playing a kid's game for millions? Unforgivable.

It's hard to know if this is the first time. The reality, however, is that most incidents of domestic violence are categorized as reciprocal and in this majority, women are more often initiators. These are relevant facts to consider. Personally, if I thought people actually cared about this issue they would address domestic violence that women partake in, because more often than not, they are what brings violence into the occasion. The vast majority of DV shelters are reserved for women, despite what I just have laid out. We don't get angry with pitchforks when women hit men. We typically laugh. The reality is that the majority of DV victims probably deserved it with what they brought to the table.

I'm not saying this is what happened here. Miles Bridges could be a serial abuser for all we know. Or he could've been hit first. Who knows? But we ARE quick to judge based on "damage", regardless of the fact that violence is itself damaging regardless of whether or not you get hurt. We don't treat it that way with women. We shrug it off because we are fucking hypocrites.

WTF?!?

And exactly how would a woman "initiate" a beating from you?

I worked with Domestic Violence survivors for years and uh, sorry man I have to disagree. Might there be more facts? Sure, but he's 6'6" and over 200lbs and an elite athlete. That's like saying if a Chihuahua bites a Great Dane the Great Dane gets to just eat the Chihuahua. At no point was Miles Bridges in ANY danger unless there was a firearm involved, which is unlikely or we would have heard it already. Sure, we ought to wait until all the facts come out, but the size difference, sex difference etc. is all HYPER relevant, also did you mean minority where you wrote majority? I don't want to assume, just that word made no sense to me.

No.

Dumb take.

Fucking excuses for a disgusting act (if true).

Dude, according to reports he choked her until she went unconscious.

That’s pretty far from throwing the shoe back after it was thrown at you…

“The majority of DV victims probably deserved it”

You clearly didn’t think this through…

Does he have to take the QO or is that even pulled? I can't imagine a team giving him a contract unless later facts support him.

If his wife is willing to go public with this days before he could sign for a hundred million ish, which she could likely get a huge chunk of in divorce, it would appear to add credibility to her allegations IMO.

She is hurting her own financial self interest, which leads me to suspect she doesn't care about the money in all of this, and is speaking out for what's right.

This is such a ridiculous argument I can't fathom that your serious.

What in the fuck?!? Who in the fuck would care if a dude the size of Miles Bridges got hit by that girl? He could have easily physically but not violently diffused that situation without breaking her nose and concussing her. He's a fucking monster. This take of yours along with a bunch of other things I've seen you post really bring into question your character and your capability to understand other people with compassion and logic. I mean the old, "She might have brought it on herself."?!? Are you fucking serious?

I had said in a post earlier that celebrities get targeted by police at times by being overcharged for domestic disputes in order to embarrass them like what happened with Jaxson Hayes who made some bad mistakes but never should have been charged with a felony. This is not that. Miles Bridges, if he did this and given the proximity to the arrest and her hospitalization it seems very logical that he did... well he's a fucking monster. I don't know if his basketball career should be over for good if he serves time for this, gets counseling for a few years and can prove that he can come back a changed man but his NBA career should definitely be over for now.

I always thought that the penalties Mike Vick had to endure were a little too far (no offense to @SlyPokerDog and all of the dogs everywhere) but this situation needs to be like the Mike Vick situation was. In order to find his way back to the league he should have to take legal responsibility for these actions and according to this woman who seems to at the very least be the mother of his children, actions he has done many times before. He should have to donate so much money to DV charities and partner with whatever one will have him, going out and speaking out against DV and educating the public in PSAs about how horrible DV is.

Bottom line is for basketball which is what this has to come back around to in this forum, Miles Bridges should be done unless some very big things happen over a sustained period of time and by that I mean multiple seasons away doing the right things that concretely show that he is a changed person. Really sad stuff for that woman and their children. I hope they're okay, I do hope that Miles Bridges can get to a place where he's a better person after rehabilitation and serving the proper sentence and I hope we can all be better than the post I'm replying to.

Do you have anything backing up your claim that women are in the majority for instigating domestic violence?

In the majority of situations, the man is going to have more power financially and physically. Sadly, with power comes abuse.

Nah. He went too far and should be held accountable.
Yes Paine has a point but we as men need to be capable of walking away.
The point here is more that if he was being pushed to do this he should have been man enough to get out (not always easy to do). If he was not then he should be charged with assault.

In both cases everyone involved needs help here. First and foremost the children.

I knew I had you on ignore for a reason.

No. Doing that to a woman is not acceptable.

Acceptable to do that to a man your size if you are defending yourself or someone else. That's it.

Wait. Aren’t you the same dipwad that thinks Chet Holmgren should face legal action for supposedly tanking a workout?

You must have been beat up by a women before and it gave you brain damage. Can’t think of anything else that could explain your stupid “takes”

Huh? Is this a post by Bridge’s wife?? Why doesn’t she call him out by name in the post?
