we really needed this game. FUCK!!!!!!!!

What do you expect? Miller dared to touch one of Stern's pre-annointed stars in the making (not to say that Blake Griffin wouldn't be a star without the preferential treatment). It's no different that Durant getting foul calls for people barely breathing on him.

we really needed this game. FUCK!!!!!!!!

We wouldn't have beaten Phoenix. We won't be beating the Clippers this season. The season is over.

Unless we want to get another 2 players suspended, 1 of theirs injured, on our own court, when we come out psyched up more than any game so far this season.

Then, we might luck out again, after blowing a 22 point lead, and just barely hang on due to Clipper errors at the end. Like last night.

So I'm wrong. There's about a 10% chance we'll win one more game this season.

I don't know about you folks, but I for one, am just happy somebody on this team finally started showing some fight. So Miller got suspended. At least he had the gnards to stand up and start fighting rather than get pushed around at home.

Exactly how I feel. I love stuff like that.

Love it... stood up for himself. I dont even hate Griffin or anything.

Blake deserved it. He was playing like a prick the whole game and instigated a lot of it. Even Joel fouled him hard when he got in and then just stared him down. Sad thing is, Blake is already getting all the calls...

2) What a CRAPPY way to end the streak.

3) Has any other NBA player ever ended a long playing streak due to suspension?

2. Nope. I am agreement with Mick and hasoos that it is about time someone besides Joel knocked an opponent on their ass.

3. Bruce Bowen and his 500 (approximate) streak say hello.

Was it dirty? Yes.... did it deserve a suspension? No. How about Baron Davis trying to take out Batum while he was in the air?

That's correct. You can throw Batum or Matthews on Nash if you want. Does that mean Mills (or Johnson) slides over to J-Rich? Not to mention that Batum or Matthews can only chase Nash around for so many minutes. Dude never stops running.

Miller Out = Bigtime matchup problem vs Phoenix. Dre might not be a defensive stopper, but he's cagey enough to not get abused silly.

Mills/Johnson shouldn't be in the game if Nash is. Put Batum in the starting 5 again and have Roy, Matthews, and Batum handle PG duties. Nash's defense isn't good enough to cause a concern when it comes to bringing the ball up the court, and it's not like our offense has been running like a well-oiled machine anyways. It's certainly the best strategy on defense.

So let me get this straight, the owner of the Hornets is now handing out suspensions?

The way this season is shaping up, I hope Mills and Johnson get as much time as possible ... same with Batum. We might as well figure out what we have with these young guys sooner rather than later and see if they can develop into something worth holding on to.

3. Bruce Bowen and his 500 (approximate) streak say hello.

March 14, 2008. After exactly 500 games. Of course, Bowen was a dirty player and it was inevitable. Well, it makes me feel better that it's happened to someone else. Although Miller's streak is 632, so this is probably the record. Anybody else you remember?

Steve Nash and Dragic can't guard a chair so at least the Blazers have that going for them.

Miller should broker a deal with the league.

Pay double the fine and agree to be pulled out of the game right away.

It was a dirty play, but no streak should end because of that.

I am pleased as punch that someone on this team finally nutted up and hit someone though

I must be missing something from yuyaza's video because I didnt see Miller do anything. I saw Griffin push him in the back on the rebound.

Thanks DeanM... much better video. I was at the game and didnt see that shove by Miller. I still dont think its worth a suspension. There where harder fouls in the game that nobody is getting suspended for.

The obvious solution is to get the whole team sick with the flu so the game is forfeited, and there is no game to miss, then the streak lives on!

Could not remember exactly on the number for Bowen but agree that his streak should have been snapped alot sooner. Cannot remember it happening to anyone else. Just happy it is not due to another damn injury.

Pretty clear Miller deserves the suspension.

Not so similar, in that Fisher drove his shoulder in and up, snapping Scola's head back. Going after the head/neck is qualitatively different, IMO. Miller just ran into Griffin from the side. That said, I don't think Fisher deserved a suspension either, so I don't think it's pretty clear that Miller did. A flagrant? Sure. Suspensions should be for something more serious.

Griffin gave Andre (another) shot to the back, and Andre responded in kind at his earliest possible opportunity. It's not like Andre was lying in the weeds, waiting, and attempted to injure him. Andre got hit, Griffin turned and ran up the court, and Andre immediately went straight up to him and put a 'hard' body on him under the basket, as Griffin had done to him at least two times, at least in Andre's opinion. I think it was totally justified and appropriate, unless you think the Blazers should just be everybody's bitch.

Nice work Dean!

Good for Dre!

I laughed my arse off after seeing this replay! Good for him. If LMA or Roy were to get some nuts we'd be 13-7 instead of 9-11.

I gotta tell ya, I'm really liking Miller.

Griffin was definitely getting the Durant treatment from the refs in that game. At least two of LaMarcus' fouls on Griffin that I saw were straight BS. Then they were letting Griffin get away with pushing guys all over the place. No wonder he gets so many offensive rebounds. If the refs would represent the game and not Stern's interests, Joel and Andre wouldn't have to take enforcement into their own hands.

Aren't you the rebel.

It's clear the league has set a precedent on what deserves a suspension and what doesn't. Miller's play clearly meets that precedent and the Fisher play is just one example.

Not much to argue here.
