Brian Smith reports today that in addition to the Tolliver signing, another new item for the Blazers is that Patty Mills will travel with the team on the upcoming road trip.

Tolliver’s signing was not the only good news Portland received Thursday, though. Mills, a rookie guard, is expected to join the team on its upcoming four-game road trip. He has missed the entire season thus far due to preseason foot surgery.

“They told me today I’m going,” Mills said.

That surprises me. When he is out on the court, he looks like he can't go full speed yet. Maybe they just want him around the guys.

Maybe it's because the guy we trade Miller/Blake for won't be ready right away (i.e., there will be a game we won't have either him or the guy we traded), and he may need to suit up so we have enough guys on the bench?

Well Pendergraph went on the last road trip even though he wasn't ready to go. It's part of integrating the personalities and camaraderie before the player actually is on the floor.

They always do that especially with rookies in order to get them used to travelling. No big whoop.

Good. He can help carry the vets' bags.

Not good. He is so slow, that by the time he gets to their room, it's morning time. No sleep, no glory.

We know Roy needs his blanky!

Monty works with Dante and Pendergraf every day like he did with Nic and Travis, so with Jeff coming along, I'm sure they thought getting a good week of workouts in would be the way to go. With Mills though, I really don't think he is even close to playing.

Maybe something is about to go down!

Maybe they are trading Miller for Hedo, so we will be down a point-guard!

Hey JohnAny chance the Raps could trade Hedo at this point? Would anyone take him with that contract or am I dreaming that we could dump him for Ray Allen's expiring? I'm getting mighty sick of him smiling at all times while his team is getting pummelled, not to mention the fact that he shot warmups with the Magic in last nights pregame shootaround, the guys gotta go!!! Thanks.

the only way you'll be able to trade him is if you want to get 30 cents on the dollar back ... either that or you're trading him for somebody else's disappointment. Speaking of which, here's one crazy thought I just had: Turkoglu for Andre Miller.

That would be one of the greatest fuck you's in the history of the NBA.

I am not sure Portland would make the trade since Hedo fucked them so bad this off season. I am thinking there is bad blood between KP and Hedo at this point.

And I am guess Paul Allen was pretty pissed as well.

They keep saying 2 weeks.

I'd totally do it, then have him ride the pine for 90 days before trading him back to Toronto for Miller again.

If only we could send him and his wife to the D-League, playing for the Idaho Stempede...
