What would everyone think of KP pulled off the additions of Millsap and Rubio?

A banger/enforcer and a future star PG

In my opinion, we'd have to lose Travis, possibly Bayless....but we would have to keep Blake.

Sign Millsap to FA with our cap space;

trade Travis and Bayless and Cunningham to Minny for Rubio. (If Rudy stays, Rubio will come play)

Blake/Rubio/Mills
Roy/Rudy
Batum/Webster/Claver
LMA/Millsap/Pendergraph
Oden/Pryz

bake it more!

I don't think Milsap can make the transition to PG. It would be tough.:devilwink:

LoL what makes you think Outlaw, Bayless and Cunningham are worth Rubio? lol your crazy

Who would be the future star PG?

So you think Rubio would be a waste?

Then let them keep Rubio and we'll take Flynn?

Or do you pursue Sessions in a sign and trade?

Please don't tell me you'd rather see Kidd or Nash....or Hinrich! ouch!

Dude you are off the wall!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Put the bong down Phelps!

Because Rubio will never play in Minny!

And I don't believe that any other team will offer up anything stronger than Outlaw, Bayless and Cunningham.

And more, Millsap is only 24. He's tough (something we sorely lack!) and he won't command Turk money. Rubio will be fun. He just needs 2 years in the league (like most PG's do) - thus, we'd need to keep Blake for continuity.

Why wouldn't you want Milsap?

Because he'd cost a lot more than we'd be willing to offer. And he'd want starter minutes, like David Lee, and isn't going to be happy playing 15 minutes after LMA.

Houston reportedly offered Battier and Brooks for Rubio.

You have a pretty distorted view on the values of players in the league. Trades don't work that way...

Why would Minny trade Rubio, or Flynn for that matter, for a backup F-who they have plenty of- and a PG when they just drafted 2 who are both arguably better than Bayless

I'd be happy if our capspace brought us Millsap and Rubio. I think it highly unlikely.

Although, if we did that combined with a Joel for Battier swap (HOU really kind of needs a C right now)

Blake/Rubio
Roy/Rudy
Battier/Batum/Cunningham
LMA/Millsap/Pendergraph
Oden/LMA

I like Flynn a lot more than Rubio. Sessions is better than him as well I think. I thought Brandon Roy woulld be an average player in the NBA though so.........

If I were Minny, I'd do this deal! Like now!

I agree about Roy. I too thought he'd just be an average player. We sure stepped in the shit with BRoy! I love this guy. However, unless we get a point guard who can pennetrate, dish ...and shoot - BRoy will become a broken down horse - fast.

I really liked Flynn - from what I saw of him.

IMHO, Bayless will never be the PG we'd hope him to be. He can pennetrate - can't pass - can't shoot from the outside (horrible form and no rotation on the ball...he must drag his hand wrong when shooting? something?) and his defense is suspect - although I think he can be coached his defense (he's got the right tenancity). Basically, he just puts his head down and bee-lines it to the basket with hopes to get off a good leap to the rim.

I really like Patty Mills - he could be a surprise pick!

I just don't want to wait 2 years for a PG to pan out right now. The window is now, not 2 years from now.

Brooks and Battier is not that impressive a package. Battier may be Captain Intangibles, but his production isn't very good. He's useful largely only on the defensive end of the court. Brooks is fast but mediocre. His few great games in the playoffs are making him hugely overrated by some.

Of course, if Minnesota values Rubio highly (and obviously they do, since they selected him at #5), then it's unlikely Portland can put together a package that would satisfy them, since Portland wouldn't include Roy, Aldridge or Oden.

Beating Houston's package is not that hard. Making it worth Minnesota's while is hard.

If you look at his college numbers, Bayless shot really well from deep. he is a scoring PG, and that is really what this team needs. We don't need a player like SErgio who sets everyone up, but can't score because it's easy to defend that. We need a player like Bayless who can beat people off the dribble. It's much harder to defend someone who you know can score, and can pass a little than someone who can't score at all so has to pass. Bayless will never have the court vision Sergio had, but he is a capable passer. He averaged about 3 assists per game in 22 mpg when Blake was injured. That would be around 5 per game if you stretched it out. Not horrible at all, and he should only get better at that.

I already pointed out how much better Bayless was than Mills in college at everything.

I SERIOUSLY believe that Rubio was selected 5th with one mission in mind: trade him after July 1st/8th. This is why they selected their "favorite choice" in the 6th spot (cheaper to them in the long run). Rubio will simply NOT play with Minny. I don't even think Minny will be in a position to deal with the buy-out situation.

I will not be that surprised to see a trade happening involving Rubio. And I believe that Outlaw, Bayless and Pick(s) is strong enough to get this done.

Just saying.

If Rubio ever plays in the NBA, Bayless will eat him alive..Rubio can not score on the NBA level and I think he will fail to live up to the hype

Dear Timberwolves,
I have two handfuls of shit. Perhaps you would like one of them for a lump of gold?

Regards,
This trade.

If (and it's a big IF) Bayless actually puts to use the work he and Oden put in together this summer, I'll feel a lot better about our chances at PG.

Good one!

However I must reitterate:

Dear Timberwolves,

In response to your feelings on our handful of shit for your lump of gold. Please ask yourself if you are willing to wait it out and learn that your little lump of gold was only fools gold!

Shit in hand is better than fools gold in Europe!

PS: Travis, Bayless and Pick(s) is really not that shitty. And if Rubio refuses to ever play in Minny - then who is left with the shittier hand?

PS:

Just trying to kill time before tomorrow! Can't wait ....hoping that draft-day disappointment doesn't linger!
