Luke Babbitt for MVP.
I had the sound down and missed his monster jam in real time. Looked nice.

Patty has some baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad shot selection.
Patty just not playing smart...
He's had quite a few chances to pass up shots to better players, but chose to shoot it himself.I think he's doing fine... I mean, he's playing poorly, but I don't know that it's due to a mental failing. He's just not hitting his shots. He can't stop playing his game merely because the shots haven't fallen.
Compare that to Pendergraph, who's not a good shooter and yet has jacked up 11 shots (so far). Hopefully that's part of the gameplan, rather than JP going rogue.

A lot of it probably is mental, but he's really committing some bad fouls, losing the ball on possessions, and making some stupid turnovers. I don't think it's a stretch to say he's not playing smart this game. He should have let Johnson set up the offense.

no, Patty wasn't playing smart, Edward. getting his pocket picked at half court then giving up a stupid and-1. then he gave up a stupid and-1 again. and after Babbit was hot, I remember at least two times when Patty elected to shoot the ball instead of passing to the hot hand. Patty just doesn't have it.
Getting the ball stolen from you is "stupid"?
Haha.
OK.

What about missing a free throw? Is that dumb, too? What about losing a jump ball?
Ed O.
I meant to players who had better looks.I'm not sure there ARE better players on the team.
So stop shooting for a while. Why does he feel the need to jack up every shot he gets? And not just jumpers either. He's having a bad game, for sure. That's the danger of having a shoot-first PG... if they're not shooting well it's pretty common for them to hurt the team more than just missing shots.
Fair enough, but I hope we don't get to see Patty and his playing style on the actual roster.I don't think that there's much that can be done about it, though. Mills is what he is. And the team is winning handily, so I don't know how much differently he should have played.
Ed O.
you're actually comparing shooting a free throw to a PG getting his pocket picked like that near half court? guess Patty isn't the only one stupid tonight.

lets recap the play. he was stupid in not protecting the ball. and then he was stupid in giving up a 3 point play. stupid all around.
It's not an intelligence failure to make a mistake, and it's not "not playing smart" for a shooter to keep shooting.

The spreadsheet I keep after every game tells me that Krazy Krabbenhoft has led Games 2, 3, and now 4 in +/- per minute. And it's not close--he has led by a great margin over the 2nd place player each time.
When he is in the game, the Blazers surge ahead of the other team. Or, maybe he has been incredibly lucky to be in the 3 games right when we get our leads, and out of the games when we lose the lead.
In efficiency per minute, he has ranked 4, 6, 1, and now 6, so he is average there. Average eff, high +/- means complementary player.
