In Denver, we have legalized medical marijuana. It's immensely popular. Currently, there are more MMJ clinics than coffee shops in the city of Denver. If the government forces this strain of marijuana to be used for clinical purposes, my guess is you'll see a lot of these places closing and people reporting fewer incidences of "stress" and "glaucoma".

I thought the entire point of MMJ was that the high reduced pain?

May as well just hand out Camels and Marlboros if you take away the THC.

yes, let remove the active ingredient in ALL prescription drugs, seems almost TOO logical

Can you imagine if/when they find something other than hemp to make ropes and other stuff from?

thank god we have asbestos and ddt, what would we do without them

For their next act, these scientists will take the alcohol out of vodka.

and maxie, if you really get your jollys celebrating others misery, and the fact that people are getting their prescriptions that help them fucked with, may the same happen to you 10 fold

Isn't it that THC isn't the active ingredient that helps them, and that it's the active ingredient that gets them stoned?

If the medicine helps them without getting them stoned, isn't that what the medicine is intended to do?

I believe his point is that a lot of people with alleged problems that have been getting medical marijuana will suddenly not need the medicine. For some reason.

This is a little risky talk guys. ILLEGAL drugs in some locations. don't want the feds to shut down this board! :MARIS61:

...I think you would all be amazed by the vast amount of real science behind mother nature's miracle cannabis plant and the amazing chemicals found inside!

Cannabinoids are a class of diverse chemical compounds that activate cannabinoid receptors. These include the endocannabinoids (produced naturally in the body by humans and animals), the phytocannabinoids (produced by various plants), and synthetic cannabinoids (produced chemically by man). The most notable cannabinoid is the phytocannabinoid ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound of cannabis. However, there are known to exist numerous other cannabinoids with varied effects. At least 85 different cannabinoids have been isolated from the Cannabis plant. At least 25 different cannabinoids have been isolated from Echinacea species. All classes derive from cannabigerol-type compounds and differ mainly in the way this precursor is cyclized.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), and Dodeca-2E,4E,8Z,10E/Z-tetraenoic-acid-isobutylamides (from Echinacea species) are the most prevalent natural cannabinoids and have received the most study. Other common cannabinoids are listed below:
  • CBG Cannabigerol
  • CBC Cannabichromene
  • CBL Cannabicyclol
  • CBV Cannabivarin
  • THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin
  • CBDV Cannabidivarin
  • CBCV Cannabichromevarin
  • CBGV Cannabigerovarin
  • CBGM Cannabigerol Monomethyl Ether

Wiki --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid found in Cannabis. It is a major constituent of the plant, representing up to 40% in its extracts.

It has displayed sedative effects in animal tests. Some research, however, indicates that CBD can increase alertness. It may decrease the rate of THC clearance from the body, perhaps by interfering with the metabolism of THC in the liver.

Medically, it has been shown to relieve convulsion, inflammation, anxiety, and nausea, as well as inhibit cancer cell growth. Recent studies have shown cannabidiol to be as effective as atypical antipsychotics in treating schizophrenia. Studies have also shown that it may relieve symptoms of dystonia.

In November 2007, it was reported that CBD reduces growth of aggressive human breast cancer cells in vitro and reduces their invasiveness.

Thank you for revealing your ignorance. MMJ isn't used for actual pain relief in the overwhelming cases here in Colorado; it's backdoor legalization. If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at those abusing the system just to get high.

Have a nice day.

Hugs & Kisses,

speaking of ignorant, you ever had a prescription for marijuana maxie?

or just talking out your ass?

If I had one, I'd want one that didn't get me high. But I see what you're trying to do, and it won't work.

Nice try, though. You keep reaching for that rainbow!
