While I watched the 2013 All-Star game, just kept thinking that
Yankee representation will be lacking for a while. After watching
The Great Mariano pitch the 8th inning( why didn't Leyland pitch
Mo in the 9th inning?), I may not see a Yankee All-Star in the
coming years. Sad situation with the Yankee organization.:dunno:

If Jeter can get healthy, he'll be there... but I hear what you are saying...

Cano as long as he is resigned should be an All Star player for some more years. What you're seeing with Mariano is the last of the dynasty legends going out on top as far as performance goes. I don't see that happening with Jeter and Andy.

Cano, Jeter, Arod (gasp), Gardner, Granderson, Texeira, CC, Kuroda, Pineda, Robertson…all possible contenders moving forward. Assuming health and signing where applicable.

the question is though... will Cano be signed to a contract for the long term? his dad seems to think so... http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/17/robinson-canos-father-thinks-son-will-re-sign-with-yankees/ but I just don't see it...

It's looking bleak for 2014, but maybe Tex bounces back, and the young starters do something, and one of these prospects down at the farm become a real player, we'll see, there is hope though, but doubt the Yankees make a showing like they have in the past for a while.

That would be nice Rusty (btw, good to see you), but it seems like a pipe dream at this point...

I thought it was a really classy thing the way the players saluted Rivera. And I'd bet dollars to donuts that the MVP was decided before the game even started. Class act all the way.

And yes Rusty, welcome aboard.

Thanks, good to be here, and thanks for getting this place going.

I'm just giving it a tiny push while I'm here. The credit for this place goes to guys like Denny Crane & TrueBlueFan.

And I don't think it will be "years" before we see some Yankee All Stars, that's a bit dramatic, they do have some payroll to work with.
