@GoodmanESPN: Mo Williams has informed Portland that he will become a free agent, agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN.

I wish Mo luck on his future endeavors.
Mo's a team player; he's playing this team like a fiddle.
How do you figure?
You think he'll accept less money than his 2nd year would have been?
If Mo is reasonable in his contract demands I would love to have him back.
No win scenario for the Blazers.
Losing him hurts - but over-paying to keep him hurts worse.
For the BAE? Sure, after we see who'll sign for the MLE.
The HCP disagrees.....I think he was a very integral part of our success this season. He played this season exactly how he has over his career. Losing him would hurt a lot more than overpaying him.
You get another legit scorer in there, two maybe, and our need for Mo in particular goes way way down.
Like who? He was a very strong presence off the court, like a big brother to some of the young guys. Can't measure that stuff on a stat sheet.
So true. Mo is a good mgs player. It's laughable people want to use the mle on a guy like Chalmers, who is worse than Mo. I'd give everyone two months into the season before they would be throwing Chalmers under the bus

Did you mean two games?
This board comes out firing like Vinnie "The Microwave" Johnson. Season-long opinions are formed overnight. And defended to the death.![]()
