Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Multiple sources on twitter.

For the BAE no less, apparently he didn't build that great of chemistry with anyone on the team...

At this point I'd rather have blake over Williams anyways.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Damn!

Looks like we have to outbid other teams to get players to sign here . . . and even then Blazers might not be able to sign players.

I understood hawes to clippers but why does Williams want to go to Dallas? Something I'm missing here or is he sick of the rain!

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

I don't see any sources on it, carte to share

I'm guessing that the Mavs offered him a longer deal.

One less person to follow on Twitter.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

I don't blame him for going to Dallas he will quickly become the starter on that team. I mean his competition is Devin Harris and Felton.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Now it's Keith Appling's chance to shine.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

The PG position is looking very thin at this point, even with the last roster spot being for BAE PG.

Hope Will or CJ are ready to step up to the plate.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Very surprised he signed for BAE if true so early. I'm kind of glad in a sense; hopefully CJ can earn the backup PG spot. I'm kind of disappointed at the same time. Hopefully it works out for the best. Mo was a roller coaster of good and very bad.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Part of me is happy, the other concerned.

Happy that the turn over machine is gone, but concerned even more about our bench scoring

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

His basketball school, the Mo Willliams Academy is based in Dallas.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

This does not surprise me. I don't think the Blazers ever made him think he was a priority to resign. Without actually saying they want to move on, I bet they wanted to go in a different direction. Mo was an quality scorer off the bench, and we could do worse. But I think we can get a different type of skill set that will help more. Or at least just as well.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Any links?

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

I don't think it the scoring that will be missed as much as Mo being able to push the pace and his assists numbers . . . but he could also be instant offense off the bench,

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

I can't find a single link. Sly u trolling us?!?!

The Portland Trail Blazers have made re-signing free agent point guard Mo Williams a high priority. Although cap space has been a limiting factor in their other Free Agency pursuits, Williams can be re-signed using the Non-Bird exception if he agrees to their proposal, which is unlikely to include the three more years Williams is seeking. The Non-Bird exception allows a team to re-sign their own free agent that has played only one year on the team for up to four years at 120 percent of their previous salary. Depending on interest around the league, this could be a good idea for both parties.

The Dallas Mavericks are the only team so far that has been reportedly pursuing Williams outside of Portland. However; their interest has probably played out. The Mavs reached an agreement with returning point guard Devin Harris for a 3-year/$9M deal earlier this afternoon. Since they acquired Raymond Felton from the New York Knicks in the Tyson Chandler trade last month, they are pretty well set at the point guard position.

With windows closing for Williams as quickly as they are for the Trail Blazers, there is a good chance that we will see him in a Trail Blazers jersey again this year. According to Williams’ agent, Mark Bartelstein, Williams’ camp is “still in constant communication with [general manager] Neil [Olshey] everyday” as they feel out all of their options.

He has his academy there, and believe he actually lives there in the off season

Dustin Hawes ‏@DHawes22 It was never the money w/ Mo ... He stated from Day One he wanted the security of a long-term deal. Best of luck in Dallas, @mowilliams!

Mo williams is expected to sign with Mavs today. The mavs will likely use their biannual exception.

Pinwheel Empire ‏@pinwheelempire
Mo Williams rumored to be signing with the Mavs for the Bi-Annual Exception...which means his value has dropped. #ripcity #blazers

Probably not the greatest sources, lol.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Any one heard any more rumors about Jameer Nelson's possible destinations? I havent heard anything in while on him

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Can't say I'm real impressed with the front office so far this summer.

Summer ain't over. I don't think Olshey would let Mo slip away like this unless he has a bigger plan. Maybe I'm hoping too much though
