Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Damn!

Looks like we have to outbid other teams to get players to sign here . . . and even then Blazers might not be able to sign players.

I have no evidence of this, but my gut feeling is that Portland probably didn't try very hard to re-sign him. This most likely wasn't a case of being out bid, but more the case of having two point guards on the roster that struggle so much defensively. Dame hopefully gets better, but at this point allowing the Tony Parkers of the world a full 48 minute opportunity to steam roll our point guards wasn't a great mix.

Mo was the best player off the bench, but in reality how hard will his production be to replace? Losing his veteran influence may be the only down fall to him leaving.

The Portland Trail Blazers have made re-signing free agent point guard Mo Williams a high priority.

Absolutely nothing in that article made me think that re-signing him was a Blazer priority. (Even the title) I don't believe it for a second. Maybe I think that way because I didn't want them to, but unless they actually made an offer to him.....then Neil was just making lip service in case he had no other choice.

I would love to acquire Beverly, but I doubt that could be pulled off. It would be like Greg Anthony and Damon all over again, but dame is much better than Damon and Anthony is better than beverly

Pinwheel empire did say that their source is pretty unreliable. guessing others are citing Pinwheel.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Well back to the same question. Offensive PG that can run a team or Defensive PG? For example if we could (which we probably cant) make the money work say Nelson vs Chalmers

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

The real question is - what happens to sly if this information is incorrect?

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

If this isn't true you're getting banished ala some others who reported failed deals from this forum.

And you better use the fucking lotion.

Maybe that's the Blazer thinking. They need more defense . . . especially since they signed Kaman. :)

I think the Blazers didn't want to commit to him long term.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Any tweets by Lillard . . . he thought that re-signing MO should have been Blazers top priority.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Nobody's confirmed it yet, but wow.

How many PGs do the Mavs have on their roster now? [Checks] Oh, actually only Raymond Felton (ha!) and Gal Mekel. I guess Shane Larkin went with Jose Calderon. And Devin Harris is UFA. But what happened to Nick Calathes?

Harris re-signed a couple days ago.

I still feel that an offensive PG is the way to go. Until we have a back-up PG that can run an offense our bench will not be able to score, which is why they lose leads. And let's face it - Stotts sucks at defense so an individual defender isn't going to improve anything. Let's get someone that can make the other bench players more efficient.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

Seriously, if Calathes is available, I think we should be interested. He's pretty solid.
[Edit: he's with Memphis. Duh.]

Hinrich, best of both worlds.

If this was 2010 I would have agreed with you. Honestly, I haven't seen him play in several years but I just can't imagine he'd be good enough at this point.

Re: Mo signs with Mavs

I've always thought marshon brooks could do more than he's shown. We don't have the right opportunity to sign him though...

Dj augustin might be an interesting name to look for.

This makes perfect sense to me.

Chalmers would be my choice out of all PG available. I think we'd need a Kaman sign and trade with LAL or a Miami sign and trade. I'd prefer to get Chalmers on similar contract to Kaman if that were somehow possible.

Well, this is embarrassing for SlyPokerDog. SlyPokerDog is a dummy. I mean, SlyPokerDog can't even read the twitters right.
