lol at you poo-pooing something close to actual news when all of us here spend hours and hours about things which will likely never come to pass.

I think the news is startling: Mo is happy to be a blazer, he's been tweeting like mad. Many are suggesting he's just here because we paid him the most, and that theory doesn't seem to be holding water. We'll find out more about this at the press conference.
 
I like his lack of fluff. He's gonna be a superb addition. And I'm diggin' the Richie Cunningham Happy Days get up.

I'm watching via the Blazers iPhone app. I just checked and it's on trailblazers.tv website.

Olshey: "We look at Mo like we looked at him in LA. We have six starters."

He clearly knows that he's gonna be a 6th man. Good to define that before we start playing
 
I caught the last 4 minutes. Olshey lectured on how successful Olshey had been with the Clippers because you can never have enough shooters.
 
Could I get a summary that's not from JLPRK
 
He's very articulate, outspoken and heartfelt. Not some of the jargon that comes from most pros when put in that position

Agreed. I also like that he clearly knows who he is and where he's at in his career. I don't sense that he's just telling people what they want to hear.

I wish he could quarterback like 'Dre, but at least I won't cringe when he's chuckin' threes!

Anyway, I was going to say that Olshey traded the Kyrie Irving #1 pick to get Williams to the Clippers.

Nice. Say something that is partly true, leaving out enough to effectively make what you are saying a lie.

You remember who the owner of the Clippers is right?

Olshey was under order to shed the Clippers of the awful Baron Davis contract. Nobody in the NBA would touch it without a BIG payoff for doing Sterling that multi-million dollar favor.

He didn't trade Kyrie Irving FOR Mo.

He traded a 1st round pick so the Cavs (who waived Baron Davis) would EAT that horrible contract.

True, but he failed to foresee what he was giving. Anyway, i just noted the historical anomaly, an interesting tidbit. The intention was not to insult your superhero. Olshey talked a lot today about how great it had been to acquire Williams for the Clippers, and I mentioned what I remembered of the transaction.

This sounds like CJ won't be playing. Mo will obviously be playing at both guard spots. Ah well.

I didn't watch the press conference. Why did he say he chose #7?

CJ will get minutes just not more then 10-15 at most a game.

His child suggested the number because there are seven people in his family. Mo asked for three different numbers before asking for #7.
 
Funny dude. I like his attitude a lot. I guess we'll see how he does, but I feel really good about having a guy of his caliber backing up Dame. I don't think we'll lose much when Lillard takes a rest.
 
He talked a lot about being the sixth man on several teams. He sure seemed like he's cool with it. He even talked about finishing his career here. Not like LaMarcus "I'm here now" Aldridge. :devilwink:
