Yikes! Just how bad did Orlando want this guy out of their locker-room?

Heartless' nickname should be Pepe le Pew !

(For you young punks, that was a smelly skunk who fancied himself a great lover. Any other cartoon history questions, you just ask me. You want to know anything about Heckle & Jeckle?)

the Orlando fan disapoinment in harkless "may" also reflect the fact that he was considered one of the centerpieces for what little return Orlando got when their franchise free agent(Dwight howard) forced his way out of town

Sounds like Moe is coming to Vegas for the balance of Summer League, though I don't know if that means he's playing, or just practicing and hanging out.

Where does the article say that?

I watched his footage. I wasn't underwhelmed and I think he can play. I hope it's not a heart problem with him because if it is, it doesn't matter if he can play. TRob could play but he couldn't mentally put it together. Off he went.

More of a salary dump but assumptions are fun.

The team with the 24th highest payroll was desperate to dump a contract for just less then $3Mil. Really?

Sorry, but there has to be more to it than that.

Is that what it infers? I missed that part. I did see this though:

"Then, last year, Harkless basically fell out of the rotation altogether for some reason. Under former head coach Jacque Vaughn and then interim coach James Borrego, he played in just 45 games (starting only four) and averaged 15 minutes per game. There were many nights where he was a healthy scratch from the lineup. His Magic teammates were confused and privately questioned the decision.

Throughout the year, Harkless tried his best to remain positive. He was supportive of his teammates while also working hard and staying prepared for the limited opportunities when he was given significant minutes."
So he was Victor Claver?

How did the lastname "Harkless" get started anyway? Someone who couldn't hark?

It looks like it's a Scottish name, must be some William Wallace type guys running around harklessing off English men's heads.

He sings it his way. "____, the Herald angels sing, fa la la la la, la la la la."

I'd say Vucevic has performed better since that trade than Howard has (who has problems staying one the court).

sorry but I strongly disagree. howards playoff performances alone have been far more impressive than Vucecic in aggregate IMHO

A heavily protected second rounder.

"Moe, we like ya but ......only this much."

Olshey couldn't get it protected through pick #59? What is wrong with him! ~Dave D
Coon CBA FAQ #87-- No more than 55 picks in a draft can be protected.

Once regarded as part of Orlando's young core, Harkless was traded for almost literally nothing Tuesday.

The Orlando Magic traded Maurice Harklessto the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday and got, in a practical sense, nothing in return for him.

As the Blazers noted in their press release announcing the trade, the 2020 second-round pick they sent to Orlando is heavily protected, specifically "from picks 31 through 55."

More in depth in the article

I hope he can get some minutes for us. Right now he might be our 3rd SF depending on where they play Crabbe. If Crabbe plays more SG and CJ plays more PG (Which I am not a fan of) then he will be in the 2-deep. (or if they trade Henderson for a Backup PG)

On the other hand if he is working hard on his shot, he could actually start. The opportunity is there for him. I really like the athleticism that he brings, so I would love for that to happen. He just needs to be effective enough on offense to keep the defenses honest. He eleveates nicely on his pull midrange shot, if he can just knock it down on a more consistent basis we would have a very good young SF.
