Moe Harkless to Portland for 2nd rounder

Harkless is better than Crabbe, IMO

Yes in certain areas. But not shooting. It will depend on who else is on the floor.

With Plumlee and Davis on the floor I would rather have Crabbe at SF. With Leonard and Vonleh on the floor I would rather see Harkless. With either Plumlee/Davis and Leonard together or Plumlee/Davis and Vonleh.......(and Frazier at PG) ...maybe Crabbe. If it is CJ or Dame at the point ....probably Harkless.

Bottom line is it would be nice to have a minimum of 3 outside shooters on the floor at all times.

I believe crabbe will play the 2 when cj at the 1. But mo will compete against crabbe for minutes at the 3 the loser of that will not be with blazer in 2016-2017 season. So let best player win.

Training camp is going to be the biggest dogfight ever for roster spots. I think Henderson and Harkless will play the two and Crabbe will play more three. I see CJ and Harkless at the guard spots and Crabbe at SF coming off the bench. Dame, Henderson and Aminu starting.

You know? This is my only concern about this. I know competition is good, it brings out the best play and Olshey seems to know how to find hungry guys who want it. I'm concerned the guys might go too far in their effort and leave themselves open to injuries before the season really even gets going. I have mixed emotions about this...probably only because of our injury history. If it weren't for that, it probably wouldn't even be a thought, but right now its in the forefront of my mind.

Harkless is in no way a SG imo.

Agree. He's played the majority of his minutes as a SF during college and NBA.

He played some as a PF, SF, and SG for the Magic where he had his highest PER as a SF and lowest as a SG. For our team, he'll probably see most of his minutes as a back-up SF with spot minutes as a PF in some small ball lineups.

Keep forgetting about this guy, for as crappy as it is to be rebuilding we've really upped our athleticism.

Buck up little camper! There is always a chance an athlete can be injured playing or practicing their sport. I wouldn't worry about competition during training camp it is only beneficial to the team. Also, I'm pretty sure any overzealous players can easily be kick out of the gym.

Oh don't get me wrong, I am not saying I don't want to see them leave it all on the floor in any scrimmage or drill, but with our history.. damn, I need to go knock on some wood.

I like that Harkless is in the last year of his contract. I expect that to be the sharp stick in the ass he'll need if he wants to keep playing in this league. If properly motivated, he could be the steal of the (admittedly young) century.

supposedly in the gym over last years allstar break and following the season,(IMG academy in tampa I think), was supposed to play for Puerto Rico and coach Pitino in the fiba games this summer too, but couldn't find him in any boxscores. seems a sense of urgency is detected in this. here is to hoping he can realize some of his potential, here in Portland with next seasons squad. saying all the right things, stayed positive last season in a hugely reduced role. Stott's talked about he and Aminu in a batum-esque facilitator role in the PR next season.

Aminu can run the pick n roll?

Yeah, I remember reading about him working out at the IMG Academy, and thinking Moe might be ready for a comeback year. He seems to be taking his contract year seriously which is a good sign.

The kid can play but he will have to know if he part of rotation and I think that what happen to him in Orlando.

It will be nice when our organization learns how to spell our players' names ... Al-Farouq Amino?

Trail Mix: Moe Harkless suffers ankle injury, flown to Portland for evaluation
Posted on August 26, 2015 by Erik Gundersen

The initial reports of the injury from the National team suggested that the ankle injury was just minor one. But nobody can blame the Blazers for being extra cautious and wanting their staff to take a look.
