RHP - Ivan Nova (1-1, 5.14 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Chris Young (1-4, 5.76)

Lineups to follow..............

How the mighty have fallen, Yankees playing a team that has been to the two most recent World Series instead of being that team. Line is on the Yankees tonight, even with Nova pitching, why am I surprised.

I mean just look at this crap.

Mark Teixeira .210 3 hrs 11 RBIs

Chase Headley .163 0 hrs 2 RBIs and still looking for his first extra base hit

Gregorius .227, Beltran .236, Gardner .239, Hicks .122, Ackley .103

How can you win like this? How can absolutely nobody in the lineup hit?

Funny you should supply those numbers Vic because.........May I present to you......."The pathetic lineup award".

Tonight's starting lineup............

LF - Gardner (239)
CF - Hicks (122)
C - McCann (268)
1B - Teixeira (210)
DH - Beltran (236)
RF - Ackley (103)
SS - Gregorius (227)
3B - Headley (163)
2B - Torreyes (310)

Tell me again why its an automatic that Teixeira is batting cleanup all season so far?

...with the exception of Torreyes and McCann, it really a putrid looking line up...speaking of McCann, I have seen him try to go the other way vs the shift this year...at least he's trying.

I know there's a few injuries but this is 1989ish slop they're trotting out there. Shows how hideous this bench is.

...the players are what they are and yes, they are underperforming but management is even more to blame for constructing this "poorly constructed team".

Of the position player I still like McCann overall best, handles his staff well, starting to make adjustments. Headley at the rate he is going will soon replace Bobby Meecham as my least favorite Yankee.

With this lineup that HR is big because I really don't see very much production.

...Gordon ties it up...then Beltran puts the Yanx back up 2-1.

Homer central tonight. Tex looks completely clueless at the plate.

Like I said earlier Vic, I still don't understand why Tex is an automatic clean up hitter game after game. I'm beginning to believe that even if his average drops below 200 Girardi would still pencil him in at the four hole.

...evidently salary dictates batting order.

I really hate this pitch count bullshit. 2 outs in the 5th on 80 pitches, give the guy a chance to get the win. His arm is not going to fall off if you let him pitch to one more batter.

This is Carlos Beltrán's 38th career multi-HR game

Tex down to .202 with just absolutely no clue as to what he's doing at the plate.
